As a Network Engineer I, you will play a vital role in supporting and enhancing the efficiency of our complex computing infrastructure within a dynamic and deadline-driven environment. Your responsibilities include monitoring, implementing, and maintaining our network infrastructure, providing technical support to both internal and external stakeholders.
This hands-on role involves collaboration with the Communications team for on-site troubleshooting and equipment maintenance. We seek an organized individual with excellent project management skills who can effectively communicate technical information across diverse audiences. As a proactive problem solver, you will demonstrate composure and critical thinking during incidents and outages. Participation in project delivery and day-to-day operations is crucial, ensuring effective monitoring and proactive service management to minimize downtime of critical business services. This position also requires 24x7 on-call support as part of an active rotation.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Install and configure network and internet systems.
- Monitor and troubleshoot network and internet systems.
- Implement configuration changes on network components routers, switches, access points.
- Install new software/firmware, perform system upgrades, and conduct general maintenance.
- Drive Continual Service Improvement through the evaluation of system errors and inefficiencies.
- Lead project implementation and corrective actions for operational stability.
- Document infrastructure environments, processes, procedures, test plans, and project plans.
- Provide operational support for internal customers on varying support issues.
- Ensure compliance with security policies, procedures, and standards.
- Contribute to the development and response of business continuity and disaster recovery plans, maintaining current knowledge of plan executables.
- Manage capacity to ensure system stability and oversee backup and recovery processes.
- Lead projects associated with the role and other initiatives or duties as requested.
Job Details
Qualification Requirements
- Associates degree from an accredited university or 3 years of job-related experience.
- Prior experience in a medium to large environment (greater than 5 locations and 500+ employees).
- Minimum 3 years of relevant Operating System experience for IOS, Nexus OS, Aruba OS, Windows, Linux.
- In-depth knowledge of IPv4/6, BGP, EIGRP, OSPF, RIP, STP, VTP, QOS, 802.1X, PKI, and the OSI Model.
- In-depth knowledge of Next Generation Firewall and Remote Access/VPN methodologies.
- In-depth knowledge of Nagios, Solarwinds, Wireshark, TCPdump, Syslog, Cisco Prime, and Visio.
- Strong problem-solving and reasoning skills.
- Good communication, writing, and editing skills to transfer information to individuals involved in the development process.
- Preferred One or more certifications including Network +, CCNA, CCNP.
