Job Description: In this role, you will help ensure that the Midwest Hose IT operations run smoothly and professionally so that the multi-site organization experiences as little downtime as possible during normal business working hours. This will be accomplished by working closely with IT management to maintain and update enterprise-level systems, core network hardware and telephony.
As a highly collaborative team member, you will be expected to perform the below duties with a positive attitude, in a collaborative manner, and promote a "team-first" environment:
Responsibilities:
- 30% Network Administration and 70% System Administration
- Rack and modular server hardware nationally, as required
- IT power systems and ensuring cooling systems are functional
- DNS, DHCP and other standard networking services
- Promptly responding to system outages, resolving issues, and diagnosing root causes of issues
- Managing cabling and other install vendors and projects both locally and remotely
- Assisting with: Management of Windows servers
- Management of company physical security control systems Planning of new hardware solutions and executing on their installation
- Researching and recommending innovative and automated approaches to system administration
- Developing and maintaining departmental procedural documents and the IT knowledge base
- Notifying all users of upcoming planned maintenance, service disruptions, and reinstatements following agreed-upon procedures and quality standards
- Meeting or exceeding established departmental workload and efficiency goals
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Requirements EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE Five plus years of relevant Helpdesk or IT work or equivalent experience supporting business-scale environments
- Basic understanding of Microsoft Hyper-V administration
- Basic knowledge of physical and virtual server infrastructure
- Detailed understanding of server operating systems and how applications can interact
- Good organizational skills and experience with helpdesk systems, SLAs, and support contracts
- Good understanding of business continuity and disaster recovery practices
- Ability to multi-task
- Willingness and ability to work extended hours as maintenance windows dictate
- Lifting to 50lb occasionally is required, along with working on ladders and scissor lifts to assist with installing hardware and running cable as necessary
Education and Experience:
- High School diploma or GED (required)
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field (highly preferred but not required)
- 3-5 years of Help Desk or IT related field experience (required)
