Summary
- Responsible for planning, deploying, and maintaining critical infrastructure systems to ensure high availability, scalability, and security.
- Must have a strong systems engineering, networking, and infrastructure management background.
- Lead role in supporting departmental and company projects and objectives, including researching,
- recommending, and implementing new technological solutions.
- Must maintain compliance with the company's Information Security policies and practices.
Primary Responsibilities
- Provides administrative support for Windows environments used across development, test, UAT and production environments.
- Develop and maintain infrastructure architecture documentation.
- Deploy, configure, and maintain Virtual Servers, VDI and Storage Area Network infrastructures, and other infrastructure components.
- Perform regular system updates, patches, and security configurations.
- Provide technical support and guidance to other IT staff and end-users.
- Proactively research, plan, and implement changes to improve systems/networks including virtualization.
- Work with business analysts and operations to evaluate user requirements for changes or enhancements to existing business systems and provide specifications where needed.
- Performs regular hands-on maintenance and management for business systems, resolving inquiries and issues.
- Assists IT Operations Management with license compliance as it relates to enterprise technology environment.
- Monitors systems performance and ensures compliance with security standards.
- Interact with employees, vendors, and contractors assisting in resolving any issues.
- Responsible for improving and documenting the technical processes (using Confluence)
- Develop and implement automation scripts and tools to improve efficiency and reduce manual tasks.
- Conduct regular security assessments and vulnerability testing.
- Maintain and enforce data protection and disaster recovery policies.
- Optimize infrastructure for performance, scalability, and cost-efficiency.
- Collaborate with software developers, network engineers, and other IT professionals to ensure seamless
- integration of systems.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders to understand requirements and provide timely updates on projects.
Education, Training, And Experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or related discipline or two-year college degree with relevant experience.
- 5+ years of Windows system administration for on-premise and cloud environments (Windows 2003, 2008, 2012, 2016, 2019, 2021, DHCP, DNS, IIS, PowerShell, Group Policies, etc.).
- 5+ years of experience with Active Directory & Windows Server.
- 5+ years of VMware versions 6.5 and above including experience with VDI Proven and a solid understanding of VMware virtualization technologies such as vSphere, ESXi, and vCenter Server.
- 2+ years of experience with anti-virus, patch management, and end-point management solutions.
- Experience managing production environments across Physical, Virtualized, and Cloud technologies.
- Familiarity with server builds using a spectrum of hardware components.
- The ability and history of automating tasks and writing bash scripts to make their life easier.
- Proven experience as a Systems Infrastructure Engineer or similar role.
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
- Experience with cloud platforms, i.e., AWS, and Azure.
- Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code tools, i.e., Ansible preferred.
- Understanding of DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
- Knowledge of network security concepts, including encryption, IDS/IPS, proxies, and protocol filtering.
- Professional certification preferred.
