POSITION DESCRIPTION:
As the AWS Cloud Solutions Architect for our client, you will be the bridge of communication between IT and business operations to ensure alignment in development and implementation of technical solutions for business problems. We are seeking a solution architect for our next generation ‘green field' mission-critical SaaS platform. This position will work closely with product owners and customers and lead/engage with the development team to provide technical expertise and lead the design and development of the solutions by applying cutting-edge technologies and industry best practices.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Defines and communicates the technical and architectural vision of the organization
- Applies knowledge of IC, DoD, and DHS engineering needs to design improved processes, and generate valid requirements
- Assessing the systems architecture currently in place and working with technical staff to recommend solutions for improvements
- Providing supervision and guidance to development teams
- Serves as a technology and software architecture expert
- Work with product and delivery teams to develop scalable solutions and products
- Assists company PM's with contract opportunities (RFI, RFP) responses
- Communicates and consults with clients and internal stakeholders to develop appropriate solutions based on processes, costs, and budgets
Requirements
- Minimum 10 years of software / architecture including modern software technology, tools, and industry best practices
- 5+ years of experience with Government proposals including technical solution development
- Ability to think strategically and communicate effectively at the most senior levels of government (customer) or corporate management (company) to articulate the understanding of their mission needs and requirements, and to communicate the value and benefit of the company's Defense solutions
- Experience providing systems engineering support for DoD/DHS or IC programs
- Experience providing systems engineering support in an Agile development environment
- Excellent analytical, logical, and problem-solving skills
- Experience working with Government systems and senior stakeholders
- Experience with Command-and-Control builds
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent experience
- AWS (Amazon Web Services) Certified Solutions Architect - Associate
DESIRED SKILLS (Not Required)
- Experience with DoD Cybersecurity implementations
- Security Clearance
TRAVEL REQUIRED:
- Ability for up to 10% travel both domestic and international.

WORK SCHEDULE NOTE:
While this position is scheduled for a traditional Monday - Friday work week, our systems run 24/7/365 and as such, you may be expected to perform out of hours, on-call support on an as needed basis. Additional compensation may be available for working on-call, standby, or holiday hours.
