Job Description:
- *** is seeking a Contract Network/Security Engineer, in Remote, US.
- This position will be responsible for on-going maintenance and management of our network, firewall and related hardware and software that secures the organization's network, analyzing and troubleshooting problems and monitoring for potential network security problems or incidents under the supervision of Senior Manager of Network Engineering and Operations, Security Professionals and management.
- Must have the ability to travel up to 15% domestically.
Responsibilities include:
- Day to day support, monitoring and maintenance of enterprise network and security systems, review of performance parameters of infrastructure components including Switches, Routers, Firewalls, SD-WAN and IPS security logs
- Administering and configuring Cisco network devices, Palo Alto and Cisco ASA firewalls and Silverpeak SD-WAN
- Providing continuous service improvement efforts by optimizing performance, stability and capacity for the network and services at all locations of the company
- Assist in IT projects as necessary
- Contribute to building and maintaining the IT security infrastructure, monitor and suggest improvements to all areas of IT and security
- Work across teams and with vendors to identify and resolve issues
- This role will work closely with other team members and have the opportunity to work directly and be mentored by their manager.
- This person must demonstrate strong communication skills and should have the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast paced work environment.
Qualifications:
- Associate's degree and/or a combination of relevant work experience including three (3)+ years of experience supporting a global network administration.
- Three (3)+ years of experience in firewall administration.
- Experience with Cisco networking, and Palo Alto firewalls.
- Familiar with Wireshark protocol Analyzer.
- This position requires access to technology, materials, software or hardware that is controlled by US export laws. In order to be eligible for this position, you must be a “US Person” under US export laws (or eligible for approval under a U.S. Government export license.
- This position will require the ability to gain security clearance.
Preferred:
- Any Cisco or Palo Alto network certification a plus.
- Five (5)+ years minimum within network administration or engineering.
