The Director of Accounting is responsible for overseeing all accounting and finance functions of the organization. This position ensures compliance with all applicable tax and accounting regulations and manages the preparation and filing of all necessary financial statements. The successful candidate has excellent analytical and problem-solving skills and a deep understanding of accounting principles and processes.
Director of Accounting Duties and Responsibilities
Oversee the preparation of all necessary financial statements, and ensure that all financial reporting is accurate and timely
Manage the processing of all accounts payables and receivables, including invoices and payments
Monitor the accuracy of financial data and ensure that all financial transactions are properly recorded
Analyze financial data for patterns, trends, and anomalies, and recommend corrective action as necessary
Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations
Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
Provide financial guidance and support to department heads, and ensure that all financial decisions are in alignment with the organization’s strategic goals
Supervise and mentor accounting staff
Director of Accounting Requirements and Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field
Minimum of 8 years of experience in accounting and finance preferred
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license
Advanced knowledge of GAAP and federal and state tax laws
Strong organizational and time management skills
Able to communicate effectively with both internal and external stakeholders.
