As the Director, Risk Management, here are some of your responsibilities:
- Investigates, analyzes, tracks, trends, and evaluates risk events, reporting potentially compensable events as appropriate.
- Negotiates with insurance carriers to secure the best policy terms and pricing.
- Prepares and monitors budget for department functions, corporate and franchise insurance programs, and self-insured exposures.
- Prepares loss reports and statistical analysis for executive management identifying trends, problems, and changes.
- Negotiates and implements insurance contracts with adequate limits and deductibles in collaboration with broker partners, General Counsel, and Chief Financial Officer. Coverage includes workers’ compensation, general and professional liability, medical malpractice, automobile, employment practices and umbrella liabilities, property (office contents), employee dishonesty, and surety bonds.
- Leverages relationships with brokers and carriers to provide a quality insurance claims and services program to support the insurance needs of Interim HealthCare as a whole.
- Manages and supports insurance claims and serves as the first point of contact to coordinate claims handling with franchisees, insurance representatives, attorneys, and Interim’s General Counsel.
- In collaboration with Interim Finance and Accounting, works to bid and award insurance products; negotiates with the awarded vendors to assure the best price/coverage for franchisees, company-owned and management appropriate and timely allocation of premium cost across the network.
- Manages distribution of Certificates of Insurance to franchisees and affected entities and manages internal records of Certificates of Insurance.
A few must-haves for our Director, Risk Management:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Risk Management, Occupational Safety, or the equivalent.
- Five or more years of experience within the healthcare industry in Risk Management, Safety, and Security with multiple locations.
- Has or qualifies for a Florida insurance broker license.
- Home healthcare or other post-acute risk management experience is a significant plus.
