Value Added Distributors, LLC is looking for a driven, hardworking, and enthusiastic full-time
System Administrator to join their team of experts at their
De Pere, WI location. The schedule for the System Administrator is
Monday - Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm. The salary range for this position is
$60,000 - $75,000 plus benefits based on experience.

This position will report to the Information Technology Manager and is instrumental in the internal support structure of all IT-related services. Responsibilities include but are not limited to; maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of computer systems, networks, servers, and virtualization, providing support and general IT services to all company associates, performing physical setup of hardware/software on desktops, laptops, and printers, providing support/maintenance of internally developed BAQs/Dashboards/Reports/ BPMs in Epicor ERP 10/Kinetic environment, and desire to gain expertise on new technology and products.
Key Competencies for the System Administrator

- Knowledge of Microsoft Operating Systems (Windows Server, Windows 10) and Microsoft 365 Business (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Access, Etc.)
- Ability to use Command Prompt, PowerShell, and other CLIs.
- Knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks like CMMC, NIST, or other compliance related frameworks.
- Knowledge of TCP/IP networks and networking, including VLANs, DNS, DHCP, switching and routing concepts, network printers, configuration, and topology
- Knowledge to manage and secure enterprise devices using Microsoft Intune Endpoint Manager
- Experience with Microsoft Active Directory and Microsoft Entra ID and provisioning of users and groups
- Ability and desire to gain understanding of cloud deployment, new technology and products
- Support special projects as they occur
- Experience with ERP system (Epicor ERP 10/Kinetic a plus)
- Experience with Microsoft SQL and report development utilizing SSRS and Crystal Reports a plus
- Basic Telephony/VoIP concepts understanding helpful
Key Responsibilities For The System Administrator
- Responsible for the maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of computer systems, networks, servers, and virtualization
- Participate in regulatory compliance audits and assessments utilizing frameworks like CMMC, NIST, ISO
- Participate in the creation and updating of cybersecurity related policies and procedures.
- Install and upgrade computer components and software, manage virtual servers, and integrate automation processes
- Troubleshoot hardware and software errors by running diagnostics, documenting problems and resolutions, prioritizing problems, and assessing impact of issues
- Participate in the creation of cybersecurity awareness training materials.
- Provide documentation and technical specifications to IT staff for planning and implementing new or upgrades of IT infrastructure
- Perform or delegate regular backup operations and implement appropriate processes for data protection, disaster recovery, and failover procedures
- Lead desktop and helpdesk support efforts, making sure all desktop applications, workstations, and related equipment problems are resolved in a timely manner with limited disruptions
- Responsible for capacity, storage planning, and database performance
- Develops and supports solutions and processes to enhance desktop production environment for company associates. Supports, maintains, and develops BAQs, Dashboards, Reports, and BPMs in company's Epicor ERP 10/Kinetic environment.
- Performs software troubleshooting on documented and undocumented issues affecting single or multiple machines. Mitigates issues by updating, modifying, re-installing, or removing software. Ability to create and implement effective, appropriate solutions.
- Performs hardware analysis to diagnose issues or identify sources of performance degradation. Replaces, upgrades, or modifies hardware.
- Routinely investigates availability issues pertaining to domain/network resources, identifies, and resolves specific issues.
- Performs general Information Technology support for remote offices and locations throughout the United States. Occasionally may travel to lead onsite activities or to provide specialized onsite support at remote locations.
- Provides network analysis for issues related to connectivity
- Evaluates and tests new software products individually or as part of a team, providing recommendations and implementation planning upon testing completion.
- Creates new documentation pertaining to software and hardware products and issues.
- Provides input and recommendations for departmental processes and procedures, considering impact on the organization. Evaluates and implements best practices with technology.
- Researches, recommends, and applies technical solutions to enhance productivity in meeting business needs.
- Coordinates and/or independently works on single or multiple, complex projects or tasks, requiring limited technical or management guidance.
- Initiates and completes postmortem process for problems as appropriate.
- May work with software and hardware vendors for product specifications, evaluation, technical problems, and solutions.
- May interact with other technology companies for best practices and research.
- Ability to work outside of normal business hours (nights or weekends) as business needs dictate.
- Performs additional duties as required.
Qualifications For The System Administrator
- Associate or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, System Administration, or a closely related field, or equivalent experience required
- 3-5 years of database, network administration, or system administration experience
- Working knowledge of virtualization, VMWare, or equivalent
- Strong knowledge of systems and networking software, hardware, and networking protocols
- Experience with scripting and automation tools
- A proven track record of developing and implementing IT strategy and plans
- Strong knowledge of implementing and effectively developing helpdesk and IT operations best practices, including expert knowledge of security, storage, data protection, and disaster recovery protocols
