Overview
The Technical Program Manager will report to the Splunk Global Security (SGS) Senior Director of Strategy, Planning, and Operations and have the opportunity to drive projects and processes. This role requires a delivery of results that contribute to the achievement of our organization's Objectives and Key Results. Strong work ethic, a high degree of accountability, a proven track record of leading and running technical projects, and excellent communication skills are keys to success in this role. To influence decision makers and business partners at all levels and effect change across the organization is crucial. The role will require the need to multi-task and operate independently and be able to work multi-functionally. You will need to be agile in learning and mastering new processes quickly. Communication with the project team members and process owners and your manager is key to your success! You will work calmly in a fast paced and high-pressure environment, bring order to multiple threads and priorities, maintain a sense of humor and live the mantra -- work hard, have fun, make history!
Meet the Team
Our SGS organization is led by Splunk’s Chief Information and Security Officer (CISO). Our purpose is to deliver a comprehensive set of services, designed to effectively defend and protect Splunk and its customers. The Strategy, Planning and Operations (SPO) Team within the SGS organization consists of three functions (Program Management, Business Operations, and Strategy & Execution).
Responsibilities
- Manage multiple cross-functional cyber security related projects with a coherent approach
- Define, implement and own business processes and improve the quality of existing ones
- Apply the concepts of project management and continuous process improvement
- Collaborate across wide range of team members to support the organization's corresponding objectives and results
- Drive and maintain attention to quality and detail and hold yourself accountable to the expectations and deliverables
- Lead difficult conversations in a professional way and apply judgment to assess urgency and prioritize efforts in alignment with organizational goals
- Establish “The Definition of Done” for project tasks and manage expectations for all relevant partners
Must-have Qualifications
- Demonstrated ability post bachelor (4 years+ of experience) or master degree (2 years+ of experience) in a possible combination of program management, strategy, and/or business operations in a technology company, or world-class consulting firm / corporate strategy field with strong exposure to cybersecurity technology
- Knowledge of cybersecurity areas (examples Secure Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC); Security control / Risk frameworks (e.g., ISO, NIST, PCI. FedRAMP); Methods of cryptanalytic attacks)
- Development methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall, DevOps, DevSecOps, Scaled Agile Framework)
- Working knowledge of Confluence, Jira, Google Workspace and Microsoft 365 Suite
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- One or more of the following certifications are preferred CompTIASecurity +, ISACA CISA/CISM, ISC2 CISSP. Other cybersecurity industry certifications may be considered. If not in place, the manager will work with you on a training plan to acquire this respective knowledge and corresponding certification.

Base Pay Range
SF Bay Area, Seattle Metro, and New York City Metro Area
Base Pay Range $108,000.00 - 148,500.00 per year
California (excludes SF Bay Area), Washington (excludes Seattle Metro), Washington DC Metro, and Massachusetts
Base Pay Range $97,200.00 - 133,650.00 per year
All other cities and states excluding California, Washington, Massachusetts, New York City Metro Area and Washington DC Metro Area.
Base Pay Range $86,400.00 - 118,800.00 per year
Splunk provides flexibility and choice in the working arrangement for most roles, including remote and/or in-office roles. We have a market-based pay structure which varies by location. Please note that the base pay range is a guideline and for candidates who receive an offer, the base pay will vary based on factors such as work location as set out above, as well as the knowledge, skills and experience of the candidate.
In addition to base pay, this role is eligible for incentive compensation and may be eligible for equity or long-term cash awards.
