Job Description:
As a Network Engineer on the Edge Networking team, your role will involve providing network support to edge networks for assigned business groups within the Client.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide technical support for planning, maintaining, and integrating local and wide area network infrastructure.
- Install, configure, and maintain network infrastructure, including switches, routers, SD-WAN edge appliances, wireless infrastructure, and cellular-based appliances.
- Perform network management functions using industry tools to monitor, test, verify, troubleshoot, and resolve network problems.
- Assist in planned deployments, upgrades, and change management efforts within the edge networking group.
- Participate in Service Now trouble ticket resolution, reporting, and rollout of new network technology applications.
- Ensure edge networking incidents are fully documented in Service Now and troubleshoot complex network problems to resolution.
- Evaluate current and future network needs, preparing technical solutions and recommendations.
- Assist in creating and maintaining Visio diagrams and documentation for network components.
- Support remote IT staff, operations staff, and business partners with network-related issues and deployments.
- Communicate effectively with employees, vendors, and business partners.
- Maintain knowledge of network monitoring tools and automation.
Required Skills, Experiences, Education, and Competencies:
- Hands-on experience in networking, with a preference for CCNA certification or equivalent experience.
- Proficiency in Cisco CLI and experience with switches, routers, SD-WAN, and wireless infrastructure.
- Knowledge of Service Now and experience in troubleshooting and resolving complex network problems.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to assess and resolve issues effectively.
The hourly range for roles of this nature are $40.00 to $80.00/hr. Rates are heavily dependent on skills, experience, location, and industry.
