Position Summary:
The IT Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and managing the organization's IT infrastructure, systems, and operations. This role involves overseeing a team of IT professionals, ensuring system reliability and security, and aligning technology solutions with business goals.
Key Responsibilities:
Team Leadership and Management:
- Supervise and mentor IT staff, including system administrators, network engineers, and support personnel.
- Develop training programs and performance evaluation processes for team members.
- Manage recruitment, onboarding, and professional development for IT staff.
IT Infrastructure and Operations:
- Oversee the installation, configuration, and maintenance of hardware and software systems.
- Ensure the reliability, performance, and security of the organization’s IT infrastructure.
- Manage and optimize network systems, including servers, storage, and cloud services.
Project Management:
- Plan, coordinate, and execute IT projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.
- Develop project scopes, timelines, and resource plans.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and address IT needs and requirements.
Security and Compliance:
- Implement and manage cybersecurity measures to protect organizational data and systems.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA).
- Conduct regular security audits and risk assessments.
Vendor Management:
- Manage relationships with technology vendors and service providers.
- Negotiate contracts and service level agreements (SLAs).
- Monitor vendor performance and address any issues.
Budgeting and Resource Management:
- Develop and manage the IT budget, including forecasting and financial reporting.
- Allocate resources effectively to meet organizational needs.
- Identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
Technical Support:
- Oversee the IT helpdesk and support functions, ensuring timely resolution of user issues.
- Develop and maintain documentation for IT processes and procedures.
- Strategic Planning:
- Develop and implement IT strategies that align with the organization's goals.
- Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends.
- Provide recommendations for technology improvements and innovations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Proven experience (typically 5+ years) in IT management or a related role.
- Strong knowledge of IT systems, networks, and infrastructure.
- Experience with project management and leadership.
- Familiarity with cybersecurity practices and data protection regulations.
