Job Description Summary
The IT Support Manager leads the technical support of the college including maintaining and updating PC hardware and software, printers, audio visual, and network support. This position performs analysis of network needs and contribute to the design of network architecture, integration, and installation for the College. Also, this position oversees Helpdesk/Information Desk operations as well as Athletics IT needs. Some evening and weekend hours may be required when system or communication issues arise.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Direct the day-to-day operations, projects, and staff for all related subordinate lines-of-business keeping the CIO as informed as possible
- Provide leadership for and supervise technical support staff including training, professional development, performance evaluations, and disciplinary action, as needed.
- Oversee subordinate line-of-business services as they pertain to strategic planning, budgeting, and CapEX requests for the department
- Develop and execute project work plans and revise as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements
- Act as an escalation point for staff, instructional help desk requests, and incidents.
- Create, update, and manage detailed documentation for end users as well as IT team members
- Manage and control assets along the equipment lifecycle
- Recommend and plan for client hardware and software updates and patches as needed to PCs, Laptops, Macs, IPad/Tablets, network, printers, and projectors
- Coordinate installation of hardware and software for all College employees
- Evaluate hardware and software working with vendors to provide the best quality and cost in order to meet with college requirements
- Coordinate network schedule, backups, and downtime for department and communicate schedules campus wide.
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge remaining on the forefront of emerging industry practices
- Provide training and support to team, and end-user clients

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree with 3 years of experience working in IT Support; OR Associate’s Degree with CompTIA A+ or CompTIA Network + certification, and 5 years of experience working in IT Support, OR CompTIA A+ or CompTIA Network + certification with 10+ years of experience working in and managing IT Support functions
- Experience with computer, printer, and audio repair, network monitoring, Microsoft Active Directory systems administration, and operating systems such as Windows Linux and Mac OS
- Strong analytical and problem resolution skills to assist with troubleshooting for client issues on a timely basis
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Computer Science, System Technology field or its equivalent
- CompTIA A+ and CompTIA Network + certification or equivalent knowledge
- Prior management and supervisory experience.
- Experience working in IT support including ITIL knowledge, Office 365 administration, classroom technology management, Hudl cameras and Watchfire score board.
- Excellent leadership interpersonal, verbal and communication skills in both technical and non-technical language
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize multiple projects at the same time under pressure
- Exceptional customer service orientation
