In this role, you’ll focus on anticipating system failures and building redundancy ahead of time. Cybersecurity is a top priority, and we need someone passionate about enforcing security policies and ensuring compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and maintain a primarily Windows environment with VMware clustering for redundancy.
- Deploy and manage Linux, Nginx, and Docker for client-facing web applications.
- Support employees using Windows laptops/desktops and Office 365.
- Participate in an on-call rotation to handle inevitable outages, despite proactive measures.
About You:
- Proven experience as a Systems Administrator in a professional capacity.
- Expertise in IT Infrastructure (Virtualization, SAN, VLANs, Firewalls).
- Extensive experience with Microsoft Windows (server and desktop), networking concepts, and security best practices.
- Ability to mentor junior team members and guide business leaders on technical issues.
- Ready to take on the role of lead technical resource for the company.
Qualifications:
- Passion for systems, software, and technology, with a motivation to learn and apply new tech.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field, with 4 years of internal tech support experience (or 8 years of experience without a degree).
- Expert in storage, virtualization, computing, DNS, networking, and Active Directory.
- Advanced knowledge of IT security best practices and experience managing vulnerabilities.
- Physical capability to lift 50 lbs. and move equipment in a data center environment.
- Eligible for a California Alarm Company Employee Permit, which includes a criminal history review.
