Job Overview
We are looking for an accomplished leader to join our Intellectual Property (IP) Legal Team as the Intellectual Property Law Director. This pivotal role is designed for an individual who is enthusiastic about integrating federal procurement law expertise with strategic business insight to foster innovation and support vital missions within the federal domain. You will play an instrumental role in shaping our intellectual property and technology strategies, safeguarding IP rights, and offering legal counsel on various facets of IP, including patents, trade secrets, emerging technologies, copyrights, trademarks, and licensing.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead a dedicated team of IP attorneys committed to delivering innovative solutions to a variety of public-sector clients.
- Oversee our registered IP portfolio and collaborate with Sector Counsels to refine and enhance our IP ecosystem.
- Partner with the Deputy General Counsel and the Office of the Chief Technology Officer to implement transformative strategies that elevate our delivery framework.
- Develop risk mitigation strategies and promote a deeper understanding of critical concepts to enhance organizational innovation.
- Forge trusted partnerships across the firm and work with the Legal, Ethics & Compliance team to navigate the complex legal landscape.
Required Skills
- A minimum of 12 years of experience in IP law, acquired through work in a law firm, in-house corporate setting, or governmental legal department.
- Proven expertise in managing an IP portfolio and in conducting patent and trademark preparation and prosecution.
- Strong background in structuring and negotiating IP transactions, technology licensing, and managing IP litigation.
- Excellent analytical abilities, coupled with the skill to translate technical legal advice into understandable business strategies.
- In-depth knowledge of federal procurement laws and regulations (FAR, DFARS), alongside experience in providing IP guidance on strategic transactions.
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree with bar admission in any state or the District of Columbia.
- Management experience supervising attorneys, paralegals, and other legal professionals.
- Familiarity with trade secret enforcement and copyright filings is beneficial.
- A security clearance is preferred but not mandatory.

The salary range for this position is projected to be between \(181,100.00 and \)337,000.00 annually, influenced by your location, education, skills, and experience.
