As a Security Operations Center (SOC) Analyst, your expertise will be crucial in fortifying our client’s Regional Security Operations Center (RSOC) and Global Security Operations Center (GSOC). You will take charge of overseeing operations within the GPS control room, collaborating with leadership to uphold superior security measures to protect our personnel, properties, and assets.
Key Responsibilities
- Uphold exceptional customer service by implementing safety and security protocols, alongside site-specific policies and emergency response procedures.
- Maintain a composed and professional demeanor while addressing incidents and critical situations.
- Carry out regular and random patrols of the premises and its periphery, with conditions varying by client site.
- Comply with RSOC and GSOC standard operating procedures, managing SOC operations in accordance with designated shift patterns.
- Deliver exemplary service to both local and remote client sites, prioritizing the safety and security of client personnel, property, and sensitive information.
- Monitor operational network video feeds and proficiently operate all SOC technologies, including access control systems.
- Coordinate responses to incidents and alarm activations effectively.
- Compile comprehensive reports for the SOC Shift Manager to disseminate to GPS management on a regular basis, providing high-quality written and verbal communication.
- Manage telephone inquiries and maintain accurate logs of all pertinent events.
- Vigilantly monitor critical systems alarms, such as physical security and fire panel alerts.
- Contribute to top-tier Global Security services by engaging with technical security implementations and incident management initiatives.
- Act as the first point of contact during emergency situations impacting employee health and safety.
- Facilitate effective communication with both internal and external emergency responders during critical incidents.
- Build and nurture cross-organizational relationships to promote informed risk information sharing.
Required Skills
- A minimum of two (2) years of experience in security operations or within a similar 24x7 operations center environment.
- Proficiency in basic security analysis and problem-solving methodologies, alongside handling preliminary inquiries and incident assessments.
- Strong command of IT applications, data entry, and retrieval, with a typing speed of at least 25wpm at a 75% accuracy rate.
- Fundamental knowledge of technical aspects related to security systems, including IP networks, servers, and LAN/WAN.
- Awareness of data protection policies, notably GDPR, and the significance of safeguarding sensitive information.
- Capability to remain level-headed and professional under pressure, particularly during emergency scenarios, while working independently when required.
- Evidence of ongoing professional development.
- Proven ability to take initiative, manage multiple duties, prioritize tasks, and adhere to deadlines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and adept usage of office management technologies.
- A professional demeanor with articulate communication, demonstrating sound independent judgment and discretion. Must maintain confidentiality regarding discussions and materials.
- A current state driver's license, a clean driving record (no points within the past three years), and the minimum required insurance level as dictated by company policy.
Qualifications
- Minimum age of 18 for unarmed positions and 21+ for armed roles.
- High school diploma or equivalent, or a substantiated five years of relevant experience.
- All applicants will undergo a background investigation and drug screening in compliance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
- Licensing criteria may be applicable prior to employment, in accordance with state and/or local laws and regulations.
