Job Description: System Administrator
Overview: We are looking for a System Admin to join our team, responsible for managing and supporting our RDP/VM systems and Plotters across various physical and virtual environments. The ideal candidate will have a strong troubleshooting, maintenance skills, and user support for both hardware and software related to RDP machines, VMs, and Plotters. This role is a part-time hybrid role where the candidate must travel to location on requirement and can work offsite otherwise.
Key Responsibilities:
Plotters:
- Perform routine maintenance tasks for Plotters including testing tolerance, service checks, ordering supplies, and general upkeep.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues reported by end-users related to Plotters, both remotely and on-site when necessary.
- Research and evaluate software compatibility with Plotters to ensure optimal performance and functionality.
- Create and update Knowledge Base (KB) articles for level 1 support, documenting troubleshooting steps and solutions. Coordinate with automation teams to implement self-resolution procedures via chatbots based on KB content.
- Collect feedback and data from end-users and level 1 support regarding Plotter issues to assist in decision-making for future Plotter contracts.
- Collaborate with Plotter vendors as required, including ticket submission and on-site troubleshooting activities.
System Administration (RDP/VMs):
- Perform routine maintenance for RDP Labs including temperature checks, cord management, and general upkeep.
- Provide first-level support for end-users regarding Remote Desktop Connection (RDP) issues, both remotely and on-site as needed.
- Ensure smooth operation of VM environments and Horizon VDI systems including access controls and security measures.
- Assist in the coordination of system upgrades, patches, and migrations related to RDP and VM infrastructure.
- Collaborate with IT teams and stakeholders to optimize system performance and reliability.
