About Our School
The Metropolitan School of Panama is an international school in Panama City that offers a world-class academic program to students in Early Childhood 3 through 12th grade. Job Purpose
The MET Head of IT has accountability for information technology within the school, with guidance provided by the Regional IT Director.
The Head of IT is responsible for working closely with the school SLT and the Regional IT Team, to implement the strategic technology direction for the school.
The Head of IT will support the planning, development, and execution of the IT strategies and solutions to support students, staff, and the infrastructure of the school.
Principal Accountabilities
- Provide appropriate technical support for all the staff and students
- Facilitate resolution of operational problems and provide training and technical support
- Lead root-cause troubleshooting efforts to address underlying problems and minimize recurrence
- Collaborate with suppliers and partners for the resolution of complex issues
- Manage the fulfillment of standard requests, ensuring the maintenance and communication
- Create and maintain standard operation procedures, developing new procedures as required, and ensure adherence
- Control operational service updates and handover, ensuring validation, communication, training, coordination and provision of operational support plans
- Support compliance-based assessments, with emphasis on user control and records
- Manage the asset distribution and IT inventory for the school
- Ensure relevant IT policies are complied with and promote the awareness and improvement of services and practices impacting IT security
- Plan and manage the IT budget for both opex and capex expenditure
- Oversee the IT Department
Qualifications / Training -degree qualified and/or relevant professional qualification and experience (computer systems, infrastructure, or related field
Experience-at least 5 years of technical delivery and support experience in roles that require involvement and understanding of IT-based service delivery. Aware of industry and professional standards. Experience in the creation and deployment of policies and standards operating procedures. Managed a service desk operation.
Skills-understand service desk operations and tools with basic project management experience. Knowledge of Windows, apple desktop administration, Microsoft Office suite, audiovisual solutions, and IT security.
Language: Strong bilingual Spanish & English skills, verbal and written.
