Years Experience: 5+ years of infrastructure/systems engineering experience
Skills:
Significant experience in deploying, upgrading, and managing VMware and VMware related infrastructure components (vSphere, NSX, ESX, vCenter, VEEAM, Platform Service Controller, etc.)
• Experience with configuring fabric-based compute platforms such as Cisco UCS.
• Moderate experience with modern enterprise storage technologies, Netapp, EMC
• General understanding of geo replication of data.
• Knowledge of Fiber Channel zoning.
• Demonstrated knowledge of PowerShell and PowerCLI and/or other object-oriented scripting languages
• Basic understanding of devops practices
• Demonstrated knowledge of and experience with integration of storage, data communications/ networking, and security implementations
• Experience with design, build and configuring enterprise storage arrays from the ground up
• Demonstrated ability to migrate workloads between storage and compute technologies
• Experience with storage technologies and operating knowledge on storage solutions and the benefits of different technologies
• Broad cross-disciplinary perspective with demonstrated competency in two or more of key IT technologies (e.g., server operating systems, virtualization, storage/SAN, system backups, security)
• 5+ years of infrastructure/systems engineering experience

Education: BA degree required
Duties:
Lead Infrastructure core service engineering, and product lifecycle management
• Maintains accurate current state diagrams, documentation, and other data sources in a consistent and replicable manner.
• Identifies tasks and processes requiring automation and implements the most effective solution. Develops detailed implementation, test and roll-back procedures for planned changes
• Maintain and install on-premises infrastructure components such as virtualization, storage, compute platforms.
• Lead technical portion of projects and POCs to further develop and refine the design patterns
• Own and author of internal design documentation with high level of polish for consumption by other engineers and business partners
• Validate the efficacy and value of implemented design patterns and documentation and continuously improve
• Self-directed coordination of implementation projects, tasks, device documentation and cross training of coworkers
• Coordinates with internal security teams and business partners in relation to security assessments
• Responsible for staying abreast of emerging developments in infrastructure and software technologies and making recommendations as appropriate
Responsible for assisting with troubleshooting and solving issues with hardware, operating systems, and application layer products by working with vendors or other team members as applicable
• Participates in all call rotation as directed
• Performs other related duties and responsibilities, on occasion, as assigned
• Works with IT security to ensure vulnerabilities are managed and remediated
• General help of Cloud infrastructure as needed.
