Responsibilities
As a
Senior Technical Analyst with MTSI you will provides on-site support and analysis to the government on Air Force and DoD level special access program weapons and their associated systems, including system acquisition and life cycle management programs, PPBS, and policy and programming for the office of the Secretary of the Air Force, Special Programs, for the weapons portfolio. This position will be located in the National Capital Region (NCR).
Your essential job functions will include but may not be limited to:
- Uses their in-depth understanding of weapons employment, warfighter capability and requirements, DoD system acquisition, programs and defense policy to evaluate issues and provide recommendations at the Director/GO/SES level on the weapons portfolio.
- Supports acquisition oversight and portfolio management activities including working groups and integrated product teams.
- Develops issue papers and communicates positions to senior DoD executives; drafts and reviews briefings and their background material.
- Reviews and recommends improvements to acquisition documents, policies and presentations.
- Provides staff support to program element monitors, community level working groups and inter-agency councils; prepares read ahead documents and talking points.
- Supports program reviews and develops recommendations.
- Supports and develops responses to GAO and Congress.
- Performs security reviews, interfaces with industry; participates in reviews, studies, analysis of alternatives, and coordinates initiatives across external offices and agencies.
Qualifications
Requirements:
- 15+ years' of relevant DoD work experience in Systems Engineering.
- Knowledge of DoD and/or USAF systems engineering processes and procedures for ACAT 1 and 2 systems, and contracts experience in preparing SOWs/RFPs and performing technical evaluations of proposals.
- Recent DoD and/or USAF Special Access Programs experience and DoD and/or USAF Headquarters staffing processes.
- HQ/AF Staff officer experience - ran staff packages/knows how to staff a package (coord).
- Fighter Pilot experience - air-to-air weapons knowledge (operational employment experience and technical knowledge).
- Able to deal effectively with strong personalities is a must.
- Technical background in engineering or physics.
- Air-to-ground weapons knowledge (operational employment experience and technical knowledge) - DESIRED
- Acquisition experience - DAWIA certified - DESIRED
Education Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a Technical engineering field (e.g., engineering or physics)
- Master's degree in a Technical engineering field (e.g., engineering or physics) -DESIRED
Clearance Requirements: An active TS/SCI clearance is required.
