The Splunk Cloud Change Management team is a part of Cloud operations within the Core Platform organization. Core Platform provides essential tools, services, and infrastructure to ensure the healthy and resilient operation of our SaaS and server environments, while also delivering, managing, and optimizing a world-class Splunk SaaS platform. Our mission is to create a robust and efficient operational framework that facilitates the seamless delivery of high-quality cloud services to our customers.
The Cloud Change Management team oversees all customer-initiated changes for both commercial and Gov Cloud environments. This team is responsible for validating changes (CCAB), scheduling, communicating, and coordinating customer requests from their inception through to the completion of the maintenance window, implementation, and post-implementation review.

Role
Our organization is seeking an experienced Senior Manager to lead, develop, and mentor a team responsible for managing all customer-initiated changes across various Cloud Service Providers and compliance environments within Splunk Cloud. This Senior Manager will be a visionary leader, dedicated to fostering a collaborative, dynamic, and enjoyable team atmosphere. They will be passionate about creating and refining processes to enhance team well-being, streamline hiring practices, and identify solutions that boost efficiency and effectiveness, enabling us to scale our services effectively.
Responsibilities
- Utilize program management methodologies to lead high-priority projects and initiatives associated with product releases in a SaaS environment.
- Demonstrate experience with Cloud Service Providers, particularly with major platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud Platform, and Azure.
- Possess a solid technical background, including knowledge of security, performance standards, and disaster recovery protocols. Understand code development, branching strategies, and deployment pipelines.
- Collaborate effectively with Support, Tech operations teams, Delivery and engineering to prioritize and resolve customer issues stemming from customer-initiated changes, serving as an escalation point when necessary.
- Communicate proactively with customers regarding planned changes and maintenance windows.
- Foster and maintain strong partnerships and positive working relationships with partner teams.
- Be available for on-call notifications regarding customer-impacting issues during release deployments.
- Enhance team efficiency and effectiveness by identifying opportunities to improve the tools and processes we utilize.
- Ensure alignment with organizational roadmaps by tracking and reporting critical metrics.
- Manage both contractors and full-time employees, assisting in planning and supporting their career development.
- Aim to collect robust metrics and data to inform operational improvements.
Qualifications
- BA/BS degree in a technical field or equivalent practical experience.
- 5+ years actively developing and/or managing cloud-native technologies.
- 3+ years managing a team in a Cloud Environment.
- Proven experience in cross-functional collaboration with operations, product, and support teams.
- Experience with SaaS software products
- Experience with version control and build management tools, e.g. Perforce, Git.
- Experience with the Atlassian tool set JIRA, Confluence, Bamboo, Stash
- Strong attention to detail, follow-through, and the ability to prioritize tasks quickly.
- Experience with scripting languages, e.g. Python, Shell script.
- Experience with multiple OS environments - Linux, Windows, Mac OSX, various UNIX flavors.
- Excellent follow up and communication skills. Ability to keep things conversational and organized while getting things done.
- Exposure to Release Engineering / DevOps practices, including automation, configuration management, and release management
- Technical aptitude for exploring innovative automation possibilities and enhanced tooling.
- Experience using data and metrics to inform decision-making
- Expertise in Agile methodologies
- Experience in Vendor management

Base Pay Range $203,200.00 - 279,400.00 per year
California (excludes SF Bay Area), Washington (excludes Seattle Metro), Washington DC Metro, and Massachusetts
Base Pay Range $182,880.00 - 251,460.00 per year
All other cities and states excluding California, Washington, Massachusetts, New York City Metro Area and Washington DC Metro Area.
Base Pay Range $162,560.00 - 223,520.00 per year
Splunk provides flexibility and choice in the working arrangement for most roles, including remote and/or in-office roles. We have a market-based pay structure which varies by location. Please note that the base pay range is a guideline and for candidates who receive an offer, the base pay will vary based on factors such as work location as set out above, as well as the knowledge, skills and experience of the candidate.
In addition to base pay, this role is eligible for incentive compensation and may be eligible for equity or long-term cash awards.
