The IT Systems Administrator is responsible for managing and supporting the organization’s computing infrastructure. This includes maintaining VMware environments, cloud platforms, and client systems to ensure security, efficiency, and continuity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain public and private cloud servers, email systems (Microsoft 365/Exchange), and related platforms.
- Support Active Directory, DHCP, DNS, SQL databases, and backup systems.
- Oversee the data center’s hardware, software, and applications.
- Perform cloud migration projects and data recovery as needed.
- Implement security features on equipment and resolve server/storage issues.
- Ensure secure system backups and timely patch management.
- Manage SAN environments to maintain data replication and disaster recovery readiness.
- Provide end-user support for hardware, software, and peripherals.
- Handle escalated service requests and guide IT Help Desk team members.
- Maintain network diagrams, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and system documentation.
- Develop automation scripts to streamline tasks and improve efficiency.
- Work with IT peers and business departments to provide timely, professional support.
- Manage IT projects and report progress to supervisors.
- Stay updated on technology trends and ensure compliance with policies and regulations.
- Maintain confidentiality of organizational and employee information.
Qualifications:
- Associate’s or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
- Microsoft, VMware, and Cisco certifications are preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years in IT infrastructure/systems administration, preferably in a financial institution.
- Experience with VMware, Microsoft 365, Windows Server, and storage platforms.
- Expertise in Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and scripting languages (PowerShell, Python).
- Strong understanding of cloud strategies, server imaging, and LAN/WAN systems.
