Description
SAIC is seeking an experienced DevOps Engineer to support the US Air Force Agency for Modeling and Simulation (AFMS) program to ensure the quality of our software products.
(This is a fully remote position, with no onsite requirements).
Responsibilities - Container Management
- Build and maintain container images for various applications and services
- Pushing container images to Amazon Elastic Container Registry (ECR)
- Optimize container configurations for performance and security
- Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
- Developer and maintain infrastructure using Terraform
- Create and manage cloud resources across multiple environments (dev, staging, production)
- Implement version control for infrastructure as code
- Automation
- Develop automation scripts and tools using Ansible, Python and Bas
- Create and maintain CI/CD pipelines for application deployment
- Automate routine tasks and processes to improve efficiency
- Monitoring and Logging
- Implement and maintain monitoring solutions for infrastructure and applications
- Set up logging systems and create dashboards for system performance and health
- Collaboration
- Work closely with development teams to streamline the software delivery process
- Provide guidance on best practices for containerization and infrastructure management
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to documentation
- Continuous Improvement
- Stay updated with the latest DevOps tools and practices
- Identify areas for improvement in the current infrastructure and processes
- Propose and implement solutions to enhance system reliability and performance
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Must be US Citizen and currently possess an active Secret clearance
- Bachelor’s and 5+ years or more experience; Master's and 3+ years or more experience; PhD and 0 years related experience; or relevant years of experience in lieu of degree
- DoD 8570 certification in IAT Level II certification or above (Security+ CE, CASP+ CE, CISSP, etc.)
- Experience with
- Windows Server operating system
- Automation tools including Ansible, and/or PowerShell
- Familiarity with
- Infrastructure automation tools including Terraform
- DoD cybersecurity controls, scans, and remediation of findings
- Amazon Web Services (AWS), the AWS Console, and AWS CLI
- Linux operating systems
- Development and automation orchestration tools such as GitLab and GitLab CICD
- DevSecOps principles and practices
- Agile methodologies such as Scrum and/or Kanban Good written and oral communication skills
Desired Qualifications
- A good candidate is experienced with automating the infrastructure deployment (Infrastructure-as-Code), installation, configuration (Configuration-as-Code), and operation of virtualized and containerized software applications using tools such as Terraform, Ansible, and CloudFormation Templates.
- A strong candidate is also familiar with implementing DoD cybersecurity requirements and controls; familiar with Amazon Web Services (AWS); and has experience with Windows Server, Linux, containerized applications, and Kubernetes.
- One-plus (3+) years of demonstrated experience working in software development and/or DevOps / DevSecOps environments
Target salary range $120,001 - $160,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
