Job Title: SecOps / Security Engineer
Location: 100% Remote, United States
Job Type: Contract 3-6 months / 2-3 days per week (Part-time)
Job Summary:
We're seeking a highly skilled and motivated SecOps / Security Engineer to play a crucial role in safeguarding our critical systems and sensitive data. As a key member of our technology team, you will be responsible for implementing and maintaining a robust security posture, conducting proactive threat assessments, and ensuring our organization's security practices align with our policies and industry best practices.
Responsibilities:
- Security Architecture and Implementation: Design, implement, and manage end-to-end internal security solutions, including Identity and Access Management (IAM), Mobile Device Management (MDM), and other security mechanisms.
- Threat Assessment and Remediation: Conduct regular penetration testing and red teaming exercises to identify vulnerabilities in our network, infrastructure, and platform. Collaborate with the broader technology team to address and remediate identified security risks.
- Security Policy and Compliance: Ensure our organization's security practices align with internal policies, industry standards, and relevant regulations such as HIPAA.
- Security Monitoring and Incident Response: Monitor security systems for potential threats, develop and implement incident response plans, and lead investigations and forensic analysis when security incidents occur.
- Continuous Improvement: Stay abreast of emerging security threats and technologies, proactively identify opportunities for security enhancements, and drive continuous improvement in our security posture.
Requirements:
Experience: At least 5+ years of experience in SecOps/Security Engineering, with a proven track record of implementing and managing security solutions in complex environments.
- IAM Expertise: Extensive background in creating and managing IAM within Google Workspace and Google Cloud environments.
- Technical Proficiency: Strong understanding of security principles, protocols, and best practices. Proficiency with security tools and technologies (e.g., SIEM, vulnerability scanners, firewalls).
- Problem-Solving and Collaboration: Excellent problem-solving skills, a collaborative mindset, and the ability to effectively communicate security risks and recommendations to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Bonus Skills: Experience deploying MDM and managing local security policies for Apple devices, as well as prior experience in the healthcare or health tech industry.
Desirable Skills:
Certifications: Relevant security certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CEH) are a plus.
Scripting/Automation: Experience with scripting (e.g., Python, Bash) or automation tools to streamline security tasks.
