Position: Senior System Administrator
Location: onsite in San Antonio, TX 78232
Working Hours: Monday-Friday 8am-5pm
Duration: 6-month contract to permanent
Pay Rate: $40-45/hour (depending on experience)
Conversion Salary: $90,000-95,000 (depending on experience)
Interview Process: 1 round virtual, 1 round onsite
Must Haves:
- At least 3+ years of system administration experience
- Expertise with Microsoft SQL Server (latest versions) for installation, administration, and troubleshooting
- 3+ years' experience working for a Managed Service Provider
- Windows Server experience with installation, administration, and troubleshooting
- Active Directory management experience: user accounts and permissions, group policy management, file permissions and printer sharing
- Microsoft 365 & Exchange configuration and management: user setup and management (including licenses and access control), mail flow configuration, experience managing on-premises Exchange servers
- VMware or Hyper-V management and administration: setting up hosts, creating and managing virtual machines, server installation within virtual environments, general knowledge of SANS security concepts, experience working with cloud platforms (Azure)
Plusses:
- Microsoft Certifications
- Experience working with cloud platforms (Azure)
- Advanced knowledge of SANS, including installation and administration
- Familiarity with Distributed File System (DFS)
- Proficiency in PowerShell scripting (or Python)
- Working knowledge of Linux/Unix systems
Day-to-Day:
This individual will be joining a fast-paced system administration team and will need to be comfortable with all types of server and systems issues for varying clients. This could be anything from setting up new users, to troubleshooting active directory replication issues, and not limited to setting up domains from scratch. The individual will have to quickly arrange for replacement or resolve the issues in case of any hardware failure. The ideal candidate will understand carrying systems but may specialize in one.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex break/fix issues.
- Track time and work completed in a ticketing system.
- Interact with customers and vendors to gather information and troubleshoot problems.
- Communicate and work with other teams, both internal and external, to accomplish a broad spectrum of technical issues and processes.
- Document common issues and processes to contribute to the team’s knowledge base.
- Support and implement core Windows Server roles and features such as Active Directory, remote desktop services, file and printer sharing, etc.
- Support and implement Microsoft cloud technologies like Azure, Exchange Online, Teams, and Microsoft 365.
- Monitor and manage backup and disaster recovery systems.
- Work with vendors and gather information from public sources to support 3rd party applications.
- Be a point of escalation for lower-level technicians and higher difficulty tickets.
IG Consultants: While on contract, you will be an Insight Global employee working for a particular company/end client on W2.
- Pay Day: You will be paid out each Friday and one week in arrears. This means you will receive payment for this week’s hours next Friday.
- Holidays/Time Off: While a consultant through Insight Global, the hours you work are they hours you will be paid. We do not offer paid sick days, paid time off, or paid holidays, except as required by applicable law.
