About the role~
Reporting to the Head of Architecture for Digital Technology, the Digital Solution Architect will play a crucial role in designing and delivering innovation and growth for the Banking Solutions business. As a thought leader in the Digital Technology organization, this role is responsible for defining, articulating, and collaborating on the next generation of converged digital capabilities that deliver value for Banking Solutions. With a focus on documenting and delivering modern designs and patterns for next generation digital capabilities, the Solution Architect focuses on a set of domains and shepherds business outcomes from ideation through to delivery and operation.
What You Will Be Doing
In this role, you will make a significant impact on the company’s modernization and transformation journey by creating customer-centric innovation that infuses modern architectural and engineering practices to deliver business outcomes that are resilient, scalable, performant, and secure. This is accomplished by adopting modern cloud-native patterns and delivering roadmaps that accurately depict the journey from where we are today to where we are going as a business. Specifically, you will be responsible for~
- Contributing to subject matter expertise across technology domains, leveraging modern engineering and architectural patterns to design systems (data, services, APIs, UI, and supporting capabilities) that deliver world-class digital customer experiences
- Introducing, articulating, and documenting (business case and process context, context diagrams, sequence diagrams, other artifacts) best practice target state designs and concepts that utilize modern, cloud-native patterns to accelerate delivery of capabilities that serve as the foundation for solutions that drive market share and delight customers
- Designing next generation data solutions that abstract from systems of record, standardize, homogenize, and make data highly available for channel consumption
- Partnering with key members of the Digital Technology organization to introduce, socialize, and champion technology modernization concepts of front, middle, and back-end technology stacks within the Agile delivery environment
- Lead investigative evaluations of new and existing vendors for fit into the strategy, technology approach, and integration patterns for Digital
- Defining and driving adoption of integration patterns with internal systems, services, and capabilities to ensure channel agnostic availability of quality data for consumption
- Aligning with product partners and other stakeholders for the intake and evaluation of Digital product features and capabilities to influence design decisions and approaches in advance of execution and delivery
- Identifying and articulating the business value of the architectural roadmap, including “over the horizon” viewpoints based in facts along with options and tradeoffs that align to the larger business strategy
What You Will Need
- 10+ years of global solution architecture or senior engineering delivery experience in a high growth digital environment
- Master understanding of digital architecture (modern frontend and backend software stacks, cloud native and on-premise infrastructure, internet and network connectivity, browser and mobile application delivery, etc.)
- Deep expertise in the design and delivery of modern data capabilities (SQL, NoSQL, eventing, highly available across regions, ETL functions, etc.) including migration away from legacy database approaches and the impacts of that on application design
- Demonstrable track record of success in delivering digital capabilities that power consumer-facing products, especially web and mobile
- Deep expertise and experience in adopting and operating within a modern SDLC and engineering practice (Agile, DevSecOps, etc.)
- Thorough understanding of modern information security and data protection methodologies and how to apply them to modern technology stacks
- Collaborative approach with low ego that seeks to accomplish business goals, motivating and energizing others and effectively influencing to achieve common goals
- Superlative communicator that understands how to influence up and down an organization, tailoring the message to achieve the desired outcome no matter the audience
- Undergraduate degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or other technical field preferred, but not required

FIS is committed to providing its employees with an exciting career opportunity and competitive compensation. The pay range for this full-time position is $171,910.00 - $288,820.00 and reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for this position based on the posted role, level, and location. Within the range, actual individual starting pay is determined additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Any changes in work location will also impact actual individual starting pay. Please consult with your recruiter about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.
