Position: Infrastructure Engineer
Duration: 9 month contract to hire, you will convert perm after 9 months
Location: Warren, Michigan (onsite 2 days per week on average – will have to go onsite up to 5 days per week for experiments, which happen 2-3 times per year)
Clearance: Will require an interim or secret clearance to start (IG can help obtain)
Must Haves:
- Experience as an Infrastructure Engineer
- BS in computer science/engineering related field
- Experience writing system configuration scripts (Bash, Python, Ansible, etc).
- Experience working with OCI container technologies (Docker, Podman, Kubernetes).
- Familiarity with the OSI network model (open systems interconnection)
- Experience contributing to projects managed as Git repositories.
Day-to-Day:
Insight Global is looking for a Computer Infrastructure Engineer to work for a DoD customer based out of Warren, MI. This team will support the Simulation Laboratory's experimentation efforts by developing orchestration methods for the deployment of simulation workloads, building network-based bare metal provisioning systems, and designing CI/CD pipelines that streamline the organization's iterative test and deployment process. The ideal candidate will be upbeat with a student mentality. This is a mainly remote role but will require onsite work on a project needed basis. This role will require a secret clearance and Insight Global will process the ideal candidate for an interim clearance!
Essential Job functions:
- Deploy services that will support a continuous integration workflow within a laboratory environment. Research, test, and integrate bare metal provisioning solutions that will allow for efficient, scalable, and deterministic configuration of laboratory hardware.
- Develop, and test orchestration solutions that can be used to instantiate distributed simulation environments in a rapid and repeatable manner.
