Job title: System Administrator II
Duration: Permanent hire
Location: ON SITE 5 DAYS A WEEK- with hybrid potential after 6 months
Salary: $80k - $100k (this depends on experience)
Must haves:
- Bachelor's Degree and 4 years' experience in IT OR 8+ years in IT
- Strong experience with investigating various business applications including their uses, workflows, dependencies, and documentation within various business groups (stakeholders)
- Experience connecting applications and systems based on the above
- VMware experience:
- Maintaining and supporting the environment, creating VMs, backups, error resolution, adding resources/templates, etc.
- Windows experience:
- Maintaining and supporting Windows environments
- Note: The hospital currently operate Windows 2008 and up servers, along with Windows Desktop 10 (moving to Windows Desktop 11)
- Experience with active directory, security, group policies, DNS, DHCP, etc.
- Functional understanding of network and security concepts and technologies such as IP addresses, subnets, routes, switches, and firewalls
- Functional understanding of Citrix and how changes in Citrix impact their perspective environments
- Strong documentation and communication skills

- Upgrading applications in Windows
- Experience with maintenance and/or upgrades of Citrix environments and/or Citrix Desktop
- End user device experience such as printers, scanners, mobile devices, IoT devices
- Experience optimizing VMware environments
Day to day: In your role at the hospital, you’ll delve into various business applications to understand their functionalities, workflows, and dependencies, ensuring they align with departmental needs. You’ll integrate these applications and systems to enhance operational efficiency. Your VMware duties will involve managing the environment, creating virtual machines, performing backups, troubleshooting issues, and allocating resources. You’ll also be responsible for maintaining and supporting the hospital’s Windows infrastructure, including servers (from Windows 2008 onwards) and desktops (transitioning from Windows 10 to 11). This includes managing active directory, security protocols, group policies, DNS, and DHCP. Your knowledge of network and security principles, such as IP addressing, subnetting, routing, switching, and firewalls, will be crucial in maintaining a secure and efficient network. Additionally, you’ll oversee Citrix environments, ensuring any changes are smoothly integrated and do not disrupt hospital operations. Effective documentation and communication will be key, as you’ll need to keep detailed records of system configurations, workflows, and troubleshooting procedures, and clearly communicate with hospital staff and stakeholders. Your role is vital in ensuring the hospital’s IT systems are reliable and support the overall mission of providing excellent patient care.
