Description
CBC is seeking an experienced IT professional to assist with the design, implementation, and management of the network components of our company. The Junior Network Engineer is responsible for the on-site support of secure computer networking across multiple divisions and office locations. This position will assist also with user, system, and network support across divisions. This position requires a deep understanding of both physical and logical networking concepts, switching, firewalls, load balancers, security principles, and best practices. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on self-starter with strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills. This is not an entry level position.

- Manage daily network operations of distributed information systems and communication networks to meet the needs of the organization.
- Support on-site LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi, and low-voltage infrastructure.
- Serve as subject matter specialist, participating in the development of the organization’s roadmap for network infrastructure, cabling, protocols, etc.
- Maintain and operate enterprise network management tools.
- Participate in design, implementation, and support of enterprise business continuity and disaster recovery strategies.
- Create and maintain configuration documentation, troubleshooting procedures, and training manuals for deployed systems.
- Assist network, security, and platform engineers and act as escalation support for service desk
- Assist in the development and maintenance of network security architecture and controls.
- Stay current with the latest relevant trends and provide expert advice and guidance on their impact on our technologies.
- Adapt quickly to change and respond to ambiguous situations.
- Experience in performing Proof-of-Concepts, Cost-Benefit, and/or Proof-of-Value to support solution purchase decisions.
- Analyze current environment and recommend improvements to monitoring, disaster recovery, optimization, and automation.
- Manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously, meeting deadlines and quality standards.
- Position requires participation in a 24x7 on-call scheduled rotation.
- Demonstrate strong communication skills (e.g., Speaking, listening, writing)
Required Qualifications
- Completed associate degree or higher in a technical field.
- Network+, CCST, CCNA, JNCIA-Junos certification(s) or equivalent experience required.
- 2+ years related experience in IP-based networking technologies.
- Experienced with multiple types of internet circuits, WAN topologies, routing, etc.
- Excellent understanding of network architectures, protocols, operating systems, DNS, and perimeter security.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Demonstrated troubleshooting and logic skills. Must be a problem-solver.

- Voice over IP (VoIP), SIP, SBC hands-on experience
- Advanced networking certifications
- Fortinet certifications
- Wi-Fi certifications

- Essential physical requirements include: standing, climbing ladders, stooping, lifting, reaching overhead, pushing, pulling, seeing, hearing, and typing.
- Able to occasionally lift up to 40 pounds.
- Able to navigate a data center with raised floors.
