Job Title: Security Manager
Location: Anacostia, MD
Position Summary: The Security Manager will be responsible for the development, implementation, and oversight of security policies and procedures related to Special Access Programs (SAP), Contractor Program requirements, and Top Secret information management within a contracting organization. This role will ensure compliance with federal regulations, safeguard sensitive information, and act as the primary liaison between the organization and government agencies. This role will also require additional duties related to monitoring and analyzing user activities across an organization’s system and applications for potential risks or unauthorized actives.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain security policies and procedures in accordance with the National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM) and other federal regulations, ensuring adherence across all classified programs.
- Manage day-to-day security operations for classified programs, including SAP and Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI), to ensure alignment with contractual security requirements.
- Conduct thorough risk assessments and security audits to identify vulnerabilities in systems and processes and recommend corrective actions to minimize risks associated with classified information and facilities.
- Investigate security incidents, breaches, and violations; prepare comprehensive reports that detail findings and recommend improvements to security measures.
- Develop and conduct training programs to ensure all personnel are knowledgeable about the security protocols for handling sensitive and classified information.
- Oversee the clearance process for personnel requiring access to classified and sensitive information, maintaining accurate security clearance records,
- and ensuring compliance with eligibility standards.
- Ensure accurate maintenance of records related to security audits, personnel clearances, incident reports, and training activities, including tracking Top Secret documentation.
- Act as the primary point of contact for all security matters with government officials and stakeholders, facilitating communication and coordination on compliance issues and program requirements.
- Stay current with emerging security trends, technologies, and changes in governmental regulations to enhance the security posture of the organization and its classified operations.
- Analyze logged user activity data to identify patterns, trends, and anomalies indicative of potential security incidents, policy violations, or compliance concerns.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in security management, criminal justice, or a related field; relevant experience may substitute for educational requirements.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in security management, particularly within government or defense contracting sectors, with a focus on classified programs and SAP.
- Must hold a current and appropriate security clearance TS/SCI (Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information).
- Strong understanding of national security regulations, security compliance, and best practices for classified information management.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills; strong communication and interpersonal abilities; detail-oriented with a proactive approach to security risks.
- Relevant security certifications (e.g., Certified Protection Professional (CPP), Security Management Professional (SMP)) are preferred.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail in identifying potential risks or security incidents.
Working Conditions
- The Security Manager will work 100% in a secure classified environment, requiring adherence to strict security protocols when handling sensitive information.
- Occasional travel may be required for inspections, training, or collaboration with government agencies.
- Flexibility in working hours may be necessary to accommodate security needs or incidents.
A reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role is:
$129,029.52-187,530.72 USD
The actual salary offered may vary within the range based on a candidates' unique experience, locale, and business needs. In addition to a base salary and bonus plans, Everfox offers a generous benefits package including flexible PTO, a 401k match, and contribution to healthcare coverages.
