Job Description
Primary Function of Position
The ideal candidate for the position of Senior Network Engineer will have experience designing, deploying, and managing large-scale enterprise networks across a global footprint, with a focus on performance optimization scalability. This position will manage and monitor the network infrastructure, and provide troubleshooting support. Proposing and implementing system enhancements, including software and hardware updates that will improve the performance, reliability, and scalability of the network.
This position requires an individual with strong interpersonal skills, the ability to work effectively and collaboratively with highly technical peers, and the capability to manage workload among changing priorities, alternating between project work and 24X7 operational support.
This position reports to the Managing Principal Network Engineer – Network Infrastructure & Ops.
Essential Job Duties
- Perform activities required to plan, deploy, manage, support, and scale a mission-critical 24X7 IP network in a rapidly expanding, global hybrid cloud environment.
- Identify, diagnose, and resolve different types of network problems.
- Proactively analyze vulnerabilities in the network and provide strategy/options for mitigation.
- Manage assigned network hardware installation, configuration, and maintenance, including coordinating carriers and circuit installations, and related software configuration and monitoring tools.
- Proactively support in KLO and sustainment by replacing faulty systems and hardware, firmware updates, dashboard monitoring, and response, performance, and operations metrics analysis/responses.
- Interface with our Engineering, QA, Customer Support, NOC, and Technical Operations teams to identify and resolve customer issues.
- Participate in team’s 24X7 network on-call rotation schedule.
- Evaluate new technologies and support the decision-making process and long-term technical direction.
Qualifications
Required Skills and Experience
- Hands-on experience with the networking products of major vendors (e.g., Cisco, F5), along with strong Unix/Linux/Storage system knowledge and proficiency with the related disciplines.
- 6+ years of network engineering experience dealing with large enterprise infrastructures.
- Experience maintaining and expanding high volume, dynamic, globally distributed network points of presence.
- Must work well in a fast-paced, changing environment and be able to manage multiple tasks, projects, and initiatives with different priorities at the same time.
- Subject matter expertise in networking, IPv4 / IPv6, BGP, EIGRP, IP anycast, load balancing, and firewalls.
- Strong ability to configure, troubleshoot, and debug core networking protocols, such as TCP/IP, OSPF, BGP, DHCP, Domain Name System (DNS), and SNMP, and experience with successfully applying these protocols to solve complex networking problems.
- Strong ability to analyze TCP/IP stack and SSL traffic.
- Must have experience managing SG, VIF, VPN, and BYOIP in AWS, Azure, and GCP.
- The ability to deploy Quality of Service, IPSec, and multicast are also essential.
- Strong ability to deploy and manage Cisco Firepower, network security, and web application firewalls.
- Must have extensive experience with web application service delivery over IPv4 and wire-level debugging of application traffic.
- Extensive practical knowledge of all layers of the OSI network model
- Strong ability to troubleshoot complex multi-vendor network issues in the LAN and WAN.
- Strong ability to identify and document customer requirements.
- Hands-on experience with protocol analyzer tools and debugging tools.
- Exceptional troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, while maintaining a business-level view towards resolution for our customers.
- Exceptional organization, time management, and multi-tasking skills, with the ability to work efficiently/effectively in a fast-paced environment, under stress, and within time constraints.
- Exceptional technical and business communication skills, both oral and written.
- Ability to physically install, service, and remove rack hardware in a data center environment.
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Ability to manage projects to successful completion.
- Demonstrate excellent problem-solving skills and multi-tasking abilities as well as a demonstrated ability to learn and apply new technologies quickly.

Required Education And Training
- Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, or 4+ years of Network Engineering experience.
- Key certification(s) from industry leaders in networking technology, such as F5, Cisco CCNP, or CCIE.
- AWS and Azure certification preferred.

We provide market-competitive compensation packages, inclusive of base pay, incentives, benefits, and equity. It would not be typical for someone to be hired at the top end of range for the role, as actual pay will be determined based on several factors, including experience, skills, and qualifications. The target salary ranges are listed.
Base Salary Range Region 1:$150,100 - $215,900
Base Salary Range Region 2: $127,600 - $183,600
Shift: Day
Travel: 10% of the time
Workplace Type: Set Schedule - This job will be onsite weekly, the percentage of onsite work will be defined by the leader.
