The Position
Job Summary:
Manage a team of local and remote direct reports by recruiting, training and coaching employees, communication job expectations and performance appraisals. Analyze all current PCNA servers and SAN systems and make recommendations for improvements. Manage day to day operations of all infrastructure related servers/systems/SAN needs as well as planning for future growth and development, hardware support, and backup and recovery.
Duties/Responsibilities (List in order of importance):
- Manage a team of local and remote direct reports by recruiting, training and coaching employees, communication job expectations and performance appraisals.
- Analyze all current PCNA servers and SAN systems and make recommendations for improvements.
- Manage day to day operations of all infrastructure related servers/systems/SAN needs as well as planning for future growth and development, hardware support, and backup and recovery.
- Lead the team towards a more secure, faster, and cleaner data structure for both on prem and cloud environments.
- This candidate will perform Systems admin duties, expected work split to be 50 hands on and 50 management.
- This position is responsible for the setup, configuration, and on-going operations of network servers and related applications.
- Maintain and support daily server operations: logs, patching, configuration, and system security.
- Maintains project plans, cost estimates, maintenance contracts and vendor relationships for system related activity.
- Plans, designs and implements systems to meet current and future needs.
- Develops, implements, and maintains backup, data recovery, and disaster recovery plans and procedures.
- Ensures compliance with architecture, technology, audit and security standards.
- Creates and maintains change management records, server documentation, designs and drawings.
- Maintains records and provides reporting on repairs, down time, changes and updates.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Candidate will be expected to display a strong degree of initiative in coordinating resources to insure smooth internal support operations of the department.
- Communicates highly technical information to both technical and non-technical personnel.
- Designs, implements and maintains virtual server environments (VMWare and HyperV).
- Analyzes situations and identifiable factors to determine appropriate action, remedies and outcomes
- Implements and adheres to best practices such as ITIL or CobIT.
- Maintains business critical systems and applications that operate 24/7/365 and on-call rotation schedule.
- Travel to other PCNA locations as necessary.
- Providing senior level analysis and support where applicable
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in MIS preferred
- 5 to 10 years of IT/Systems Administrator or related experience
Managerial Responsibilities (Select one of the following):
- This position will have 5-6 direct reports

- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
