Position Overview
The Lead Full Stack Developer will design, develop, and maintain meaningful, easy-to-use applications on enterprise-wide systems across all three tiers – data, application, and presentation. You will collaborate with teams of infrastructure engineers and application/product teams in enabling data exchanges between products/systems using data transformations and APIs. You will also implement visually appealing and intuitive product interfaces using a modern tech stack.
For this project, you must possess excellent problem-solving skills and deep technical knowledge with a strong aptitude for appreciating the focus, scope, and impact of your work in a much wider and forward-looking software landscape.
Responsibilities
- Advocate on best practices, communicate progress, monitor other developers, and provide technical guidance to the team
- Collaborate with architects, developers, business analysts, and QA analysts to design, develop, and test applications
- Translate requirements and user stories into functionality interacting with cloud platforms such as AWS
- Develop and maintain user interfaces needed to create applications to satisfy user requirements
- Develop and maintain AWS Lambdas in a cloud environment
- Develop and maintain complex SQL queries and stored procedures on a backend relational database
- Develop and maintain processes to ingest data from external sources into a relational database.
- Develop and maintain processes to send data to external sources from a relational database using REST APIs.
- Develop automatic testing scripts to ensure the product is of the highest quality
- Diagnose and resolve defects as reported by users, testers, or deployment processes
- Produce documentation to guide development teams on use of applications and APIs
- Understand usability testing and refactor front-end code to improve the user experience
- Work with the DevSecOps engineer to ensure infrastructure is deployed using IaC such as CloudFormation or Terraform and CI/CD tools such as Jenkins
Qualifications
- US citizen or authorized to work and lived in the US for 3 of the last 5 years. Must be able to obtain a U.S. Federal government client badge and pass a government Public Trust background investigation.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in IT or relevant discipline required.
- 8+ years’ experience as a software developer designing/architecting and implementing enterprise-scale application services using Python.
- 8+ years’ experience with writing SQL queries and stored procedures in a relational database.
- 3+ years of experience with designing and developing user interfaces using Angular.
- 3+ years of experience with REST APIs in a cloud environment.
- Experience with system design across the 3 zones – web, application, and data.
- Experience with data ingestion techniques and processes preferred.
- Experience with the AWS cloud platform is required.
- Prior experience with relational databases, Redshift experience preferred.
- Familiar with DevSecOps tools such as GitHub, Jenkins, SonarQube, Snyk, JFROG Artifactory or similar.
- Champion an automate-everything mindset across the development lifecycle.
- Knowledge of Agile framework, Scrum methodologies and awareness of productivity tools used to support them.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to demonstrate excellent written and oral communication required.
- Diverse experience across the full software development lifecycle preferred.
- Mentor junior personnel on development best practices.
- Previous CMS or federal government contracting experience preferred.
The salary range provided represents the estimated compensation for new hires in this position, applicable across all locations. Actual offers may vary based on factors such as the candidate's skills, qualifications, experience, and market conditions. Index complements its base salary offering with a competitive package that includes health and retirement benefits, discretionary bonuses, and reimbursement for professional development opportunities.
