The CI/CD and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) Implementation Specialist will be instrumental in driving technological advancement and strengthening the organization's security posture by facilitating the adoption of modern software development lifecycle practices.
The company is located in Washington D.C. and will remain 100% remote, needs to work EST hours.
What You Will Be Doing
- Conduct in-depth research on industry best practices for Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
- Analyze how these practices can be effectively applied in both cloud and on-premises environments to support the development of reliable, scalable applications with immutable workloads.
- Develop comprehensive agency policies, guidance, and standards aligned with the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA)’s Cloud Security Technical Reference Architecture.
- Ensure the policies and standards promote the adoption of CI/CD and IaC in all environments where custom code is developed.
- Create and deliver targeted training programs for internal and external developers, focusing on the advantages and implementation of CI/CD and IaC.
- Develop educational materials and resources to facilitate the integration of these practices into the software development lifecycle.
- Monitor and track the adoption of CI/CD and IaC practices across applicable systems.
- Maintain metrics and generate reports that illustrate the progress and effectiveness of CI/CD and IaC implementation within the agency.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree.
- At least 8 years of experience in software development, DevOps, or IT infrastructure, with a strong focus on CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code.
- Proven experience in drafting and implementing policies, standards, and best practices within an enterprise environment.
- Expertise in CI/CD tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, or CircleCI, and IaC tools such as Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, or Ansible.
- Strong knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and their respective CI/CD and IaC functionalities.
- Familiarity with immutable infrastructure concepts and containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
Desired Skills & Experience:
- A master’s degree is preferred.
- Relevant certifications, such as AWS Certified DevOps Engineer or equivalent, are highly desirable.
Clearance Requirements:
- Must be eligible for a Public Trust Clearance.
