We’re now looking for an experienced and agile leader to join our global IT & Digital Transformation team and support us in developing best-fit solutions and capabilities to enable our business growth strategy. Your mission

You’re responsible for the cross-functional management capabilities that enable effective execution of the Walter IT strategy and maximizing value creation for the business.

You strengthen core capabilities of strategy, governance, performance management and ways of working.

You develop extended capabilities inclusive of portfolio management, communications, business relationship management and financial management. Included in your mission is to:

Drive focus and prioritization within the IT organization through establishing strategic planning and governance principles and processes.
Oversee the development and maintenance of IT policies, procedures, methodologies, and governance -as well as performance management frameworks and metrics - to ensure the IT organization delivers value to the business.
Work with the CIO, the IT and business leadership teams, providing broad insight to IT domains and capabilities in support of enterprise-wide business decisions.
Establish and implement continuous-improvement programs for the IT organization.
Recommend fit-to-purpose execution supporting tools and frameworks in a hybrid delivery mode context.
Provide transparency to the total investment in IT and enable key decision makers to prioritize demand based on strategic objectives, risks, dependencies and potential constraints.
Develop holistic delivery capacity flexibility and enable agility through business cycles.
Ensure effective communications internally and with business stakeholders
Coach and drive engagement of your team. Expand your team along CIO office capabilities development.
Develop and manage the IT budget.
Collaborate with IT of business area organizational grouping structure, specifically around cross-divisional programs and their potential dependencies in “decoupled-but-connected” model.
Collaborate with IT at group level to drive strategic alignment and synergies around processes and tools.

In this position you report to the CIO and are a member of the Walter IT management team. You lead a team constituted for now of 2 IT professionals. Travelling to Walter Global headquarters in Tübingen, Germany, is needed on a monthly basis.

Your profile

As a good leader, you’re characterized by strong interpersonal and engagement skills – making you great at onboarding teams on a strategic roadmap, sharing a vision and communicating and collaborating closely with the business. You have a high sense of responsibility, service and proactivity, while at the same time being creative, agile and curious. With strong intercultural competence, you easily interact with a high number of stakeholders in our complex environment. Add the following qualifications and you have what it takes to really thrive in this role:

University degree in computer science, business administration, engineering or a related discipline with an information technology focus or comparable practical business experience.
10+ years of experience in IT and 5+ years in similar role.
Experience in managing cross-functional teams or projects and influencing senior-level management and key stakeholders.
Expertise in budget planning, financial management.
Broad knowledge of current and emerging technologies, technology directions, and strategic application to business needs.
Ability to improve operational efficiency, service delivery and information management across the IT organization.
Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to explain technology solutions in business terms.
Strong leadership capability
Strong ability to influence, lead and drive change in a complex environment.
Strong ability to build top performing and engaged global teams.
Strategic & Pragmatic.
Fluency in English
