The Cyber & Information Security Engineer will be responsible for testing and screening security software and for monitoring networks and systems for security breaches or intrusions. This is a technical position that involves identifying threats and vulnerabilities in the Island Hotels Co. Ltd. IT systems and software architecture and preparing for potential threats that could disrupt the company’s operations.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintaining all the software and hardware in relation to security best practices.
- Identifying current and emerging technology issues including security trends, vulnerabilities, and threats.
- Provide analyses and response to previously unknown hardware and software vulnerabilities.
- Configure, troubleshoot, and maintain security infrastructure software and hardware.
- Deploy, configure, and maintain security tools and technologies to monitor systems and networks for security breaches and intrusions.
- Coordinate remediation activities.
- Conduct threat and vulnerability analysis.
- Perform vulnerability assessments and penetration tests to assess the resilience of the organization and to isolate areas of weakness that need attention.
- Carries out in-depth threat intelligence analysis to find the perpetrator, the type of attack, and the data or systems impacted.
- Creates and implements a strategy for containment and recovery.
- Reviews alerts, threat intelligence, and security data.
- Identifies threats that have entered the network, and security gaps and vulnerabilities currently unknown.
- Investigate suspicious activities, contain, and implement strategies and tools to mitigate security incidents and breaches.
- Communicate any special requirements of high severity incidents to both internal and external stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance to Information Security policies and practices.
- Promotes the services of the systems assurance group.
- Provide related dashboards, reports, and analyses.
- Adheres to other defined SOPs as required.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Skills & Experience Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience in IT, Infosec or related field.
- Bachelor’s degree in related fields, relevant certification, or equivalent work experience.
- Comptia Security +, CISSP, CCNP Security or related certification preferred.
- Strong technical knowledge of computer security systems, networking, web-based protocols and frameworks.
- Troubleshooting and critical thinking skills.
- Verbal and written communication skills.
- Team orientation perspective with emphasis on business unit/ enterprise success.
