GENERAL SUMMARY:
JAMIS is currently seeking a dynamic and experienced Cloud Engineer who is passionate about cybersecurity, cloud technologies, and problem-solving in SaaS environments. This role is for those who thrive in hands-on, challenging environments, solving complex IT problems daily.
This position is based in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida or remote with East Coast USA preferred. This position will report to the Chief Information Security Officer and assist in supporting other departments such as DevOps, Software Development and QA. This is an integral rosoftware andward-thinking team, working on cutting-edge cloud software, and contributing to meaningful projects. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Design, deploy, and maintain cloud infrastructure solutions based on business requirements and best practices.
- Implement and manage cloud services such as compute, storage, networking, and databases on platforms like AWS and Azure.
- Collaborate with development teams to optimize application performance and scalability in the cloud environment.
- Monitor cloud infrastructure health, performance, and security, and implement necessary improvements and optimizations.
- Implement, operate and monitor security, health, performance and logging tools for cloud environments such as AWS tools, Okta, Datadog, Splunk, Qualys.
- Ensure compliance with security policies and implement appropriate security controls to protect cloud environments.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to cloud infrastructure, networking, and applications.
- Document system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.
- Stay current with cloud technologies and industry trends and recommend innovative solutions to enhance cloud capabilities.
REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field.
- 7-10 years of overall network/datacenter/cloud experience, including 2-5 years' experience with AWS.
- Proven experience as a Cloud Engineer or similar role.
- Understanding of cloud security best practices and compliance frameworks (e.g., PCI DSS, HIPAA, GDPR, NIST, CMMC, FedRAMP).
- Solid understanding of networking concepts including TCP/IP, DNS, VPN, and routing protocols.
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as PowerShell.
- Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Certification in cloud technologies such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect.
- Experience with database services such as Microsoft SQL Server.
- Exceptional critical thinking skills and ability to work autonomously.
- Attention to detailed technical items.
- Communication skills for a widely distributed environment.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a small team.
OTHER DESIRED EXPERIENCES:
- Experience in cybersecurity and cloud environments.
- Expertise in CMMC compliance, and a broad range of contemporary IT and SaaS technologies.
- Proficiency in Microsoft environments, Active Directory, and domain policy management.
