Job Summary
Reporting to the Chief Operations Officer, the Director of Information Technology Services is responsible for the planning, design, implementation, and technical support of organization-wide information technology services and infrastructure: networking, telecommunications, servers, storage, end-user devices and platform services. Other responsibilities include data management, IT related construction, information security operations, technology research/development and specific system-wide information system infrastructure technologies required to support the goals and vision of California Retina Consultants while providing the highest quality patient care.
Duties / Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
- Develop and implement the IT strategy aligned with the organization's goals and objectives
- Drive innovation and technology adoption to enhance operational efficiency
- Champion a culture of continuous improvement within the IT department, identifying areas for enhancement
- Stay abreast of technological advancements and industry trends to drive organizational competitiveness
Operational Management
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of IT infrastructure, ensuring reliability, security, and performance
- Lead and manage the IT Operations and Help Desk teams, fostering a culture of excellence and collaboration
- Oversee the management of the organization's information systems, databases, networks, and technology infrastructure
- Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of ITSM processes and procedures
- Maintain IT infrastructure and IT policies to maximize stability and uptime across all IT systems
Security and Compliance
- Ensure the security of the organization's IT systems and data, implementing and maintaining cybersecurity measures
- Mitigate risks by implementing and maintaining effective security policies and procedures
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements such as HIPAA, maintaining confidentiality, integrity, and security of electronic health information
Vendor and Stakeholder Management
- This role will collaborate closely with clinical, operational and administrative stakeholders to ensure the effective integration of IT solutions into clinical workflows, streamline operations, and optimize patient care delivery
- Collaborate with clinical and operational stakeholders to assess IT needs, prioritize projects, and develop technology roadmaps that support business objectives and enhance patient care delivery
- Establish and maintain relationships with external vendors, partners, and regulatory agencies to stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes
Financial Oversight
- Assist in developing and managing the IT department budget, optimizing resource allocation to maximize efficiency
Preferred Skills / Abilities
- Strong project management and analytical capabilities required
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills required
- Healthcare industry experience preferred
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (Master’s preferred).
- Minimum of 5 years of leadership experience in healthcare IT
- Strong understanding of healthcare systems, electronic health records (EHR), and clinical workflows
- IT infrastructure, networks, systems, and security
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements and industry best practices
