The Network Security Engineer is an experienced professional committed to ensuring the digital safety and resilience of our clients. Successful candidates will have a strong cybersecurity background with in-depth experience in networking and network security. The candidate must thrive in a distributed work environment while involved with complex projects happening in parallel with aggressive delivery dates. Depending on project types and client needs, travel will be required domestically and potentially internationally.
Responsibilities:
Consultation and Advisory:
- Primary technical subject matter expert on Professional Services, consulting engagements
- Consult with clients to understand their cybersecurity needs and challenges.
- Escalation point for other technical teams within the organization.
Security Architecture and Design:
- Assist with presales project scoping for network and security projects.
- Collaborate with clients to design and implement effective security architectures.
- Conduct security assessments and propose enhancements based on industry best practices.
- Participate in Cybersecurity and Network Security solution design discussions.
Implementation and Configuration:
- Perform implementation work for Cybersecurity and Network Security solutions, including Identity, PAM, SIEM, firewalls, endpoint, cloud security, wireless, SDWAN, etc.
- Ensure seamless integration with existing security infrastructure.
Risk Assessment and Mitigation:
- Conduct cybersecurity risk assessments and identify potential vulnerabilities.
- Develop and implement strategies to mitigate identified risks.
Incident Response:
- Provide support in incident response activities, including investigation and resolution.
- Collaborate with clients to develop incident response plans.
Knowledge Transfer and Documentation:
- Facilitate knowledge transfer to ensure client teams can effectively manage and maintain implemented solutions that include cybersecurity best practices.
- Prepare comprehensive project documentation, including design documents, configurations, inventories, and post-implementation reports.
- Maintain accurate records of project-related activities.
Required Technical Experience and Expertise:
- Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Engineer (PCNSE) certification is required.
- Strong understanding of Palo Alto Networks products and their application in diverse environments.
- Significant applied understanding of IP networks and network security, including dynamic routing, security policy design, and network architecture principles.
- Exceptional background in internetworking, LAN, and WAN technologies.
- Expertise in Cybersecurity domains such as Identity, PAM, SIEM, Endpoint Protection, Firewalls, CASB, and Cloud Security.
- Excellent understanding of firewall technologies, techniques, and best approaches - including Security Policies, NAT, User ID, App ID, Threat services, VPNs, remote access solutions, and routing (including dynamic).
- Understanding of GUI and CLI interfaces and the ability to debug and troubleshoot issues associated with Identity, PAM, SIEM, Endpoint Protection, Firewalls, CASB, and Cloud Security.
- Strong understanding of Layer3 & Layer2 networking. Routing, Dynamic Routing, VPNs, OSPF, BGP, Trunking, VLANs, Spanning Tree, AAA configurations.
- Specific vendor knowledge is a significant advantage, such as Check Point, Cisco, Meraki, CrowdStrike, Carbon Black, Secure Circle, Netskope, Okta, CyberArk, Securonix, Splunk, Akamai, AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, SIEM Products, SOAR Products, MDR/EDR Products.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology or a related field with at least 3-5 years of industry experience.
- Exceptional leadership and organizational skills, project management, and time organizational skills.
- Ability to assess and address cybersecurity risks effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for client interactions, including the ability to converse with all levels of an organization, including C-Level.
- Proven experience in managing and implementing cybersecurity projects.
- Accountable and Responsible – owns the delivery dates and can achieve them, even when under pressure.
- Adaptive – able to adjust and solve problems on the fly.
