About the Position
Contrast is seeking a Sr. Software Engineer - Data Platform to join our growing engineering team.The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data engineering and architecture and experience modernizing and scaling data platforms. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining a robust data architecture that supports our business objectives. We are an innovative startup dedicated to leveraging cutting-edge technology to drive growth and efficiency. Our team is passionate about transforming data into actionable insights, and we are on a mission to modernize our data architecture to support our rapid growth.
Responsibilities- Data Architecture Design: Design and implement scalable and efficient data architectures that support our business needs.
- Data Pipeline Development: Develop and maintain data pipelines for ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes to ensure data is readily available for analysis and decision-making.
- Cloud Integration: Integrate and manage data platforms on cloud services such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Performance optimization: Optimize data storage and retrieval processes for performance and cost-efficiency.
- Collaboration: Work closely with data scientists, analysis, and other stakeholders to understand data needs and deliver solutions that meet those needs.
- Data Governance: Implement and enforce data governance and security policies to ensure data privacy and compliance. Monitoring and troubleshooting: Monitor data platform performance and troubleshoot any issues that arise.
Qualifications- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field.
- Experience: 3+ years of experience in data engineering or a related role
- Proficiency in SQL and NoSQL databases
- Experience with ETL tools and processes
- Strong programming skills in languages such as Java & Python
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure
- Familiarity with data warehousing solutions such as Snowflake, Redshift, or BigQuery
- Knowledge of big data technologies like Hadoop, Spark or Kafka
- Experience with containerization and orchestration tools such as Docker and Kubernetes
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

What We Offer
Salary and Other Compensation
This position's standard base pay range is $150,000 - $180,000 annually. This position is also eligible for an equity package subject to the terms of the Company’s applicable plans. When determining a candidate’s compensation, we consider several factors: geography, skill set, experience, job scope, and current market data.
