We offer a wide range of programs to youth ages 4 to18 years old, including after-school programming, school break day camps, and summer camps. Position Overview
The IT Specialist is responsible for providing technical support to all users, managing IT systems, ensuring the provision of efficient IT services, and supporting the organization’s IT-related needs. The role includes strategic planning, project coordination, and ensuring security of data, network access, and backup systems.
Strategic Planning
Key Responsibilities & Essential Functions:
- Provide direction and support for IT solutions that enhance mission-critical business operations.
- Work closely with decision makers in other departments to identify, recommend, develop, implement, and support cost-effective technology solutions for all aspects of the organization.
- Define and implement IT policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Develop and implement all IT policies and procedures, including those for architecture, security, disaster recovery, standards, purchasing, and service provision.
- Stay current with technological developments and recommend ways to take advantage of new technology.
- Control and assess the information technology budget.
Project Coordination
- Oversee provision of end-user services, including help desk and technical support services.
- Assist in the development and implementation of training materials and user documentation for IT systems.
- Provide support and training to users on how to effectively utilize IT functionalities.
Security And Compliance
- Implement network security measures to protect data, software, and hardware.
- Monitor and optimize network connectivity and performance.
- Negotiate and administer vendor, outsourcer, and consultant contracts and service agreements.
- Conduct regular system audits and perform backup operations.
- Ensure the security of data, network access, and backup systems.
Infrastructure Management
- Install, configure, and maintain personal computers, network equipment, and peripherals.
- Manage the deployment, monitoring, maintenance, development, upgrade, and support of all IT systems, including servers, PCs, operating systems, telephones, software applications, and peripherals.
- Manage user accounts, permissions, and access rights in accordance with company policies.
- Document technical procedures and policies for IT systems.
- Provide technical support and guidance to users with respect to software, hardware, and network-related issues.
Requirements
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field or combined relevant education and proven experience in a similar role.
- Certifications in ITIL, PMP, or similar.
- Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified IT Professional, or Cisco Certified Network Associate.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
- Strong knowledge of computer systems, networks, and commonly used software.
- Outstanding communication abilities.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Experience with databases, networks (LAN, WAN), and patch management.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Knowledge of system security techniques and firewall administration.
- Experience with cloud services (AWS, Microsoft Azure) and remote troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with various operating systems and platforms.
