Where You Fit In
We're looking for a results-driven, compassionate and visionary leader who will lead the implementation of an innovative community-wide wellness program across the State of Arizona, that empowers teens to make healthier choices for themselves and their families. You'll serve as a catalyst for sustainable change, promoting improved health and wellness within schools and the broader communities.
As a Vice President, you will:
- Provide strategic direction and support for the program's implementation, which will be managed and executed by Directors, Senior Regional Program Managers, Regional Program Managers (RPMs), Coordinators and College Mentors
- Ensure that their efforts align with the program's objectives and standards
- Develop and implement long-term strategies to ensure the program's sustainability, including securing funding, maintaining strong community partnerships, and continuously evaluating and improving program effectiveness
- Oversee the overall success of the program, ensuring it meets its goals and delivers impactful results across the state by actively engaging with community stakeholders and promoting the brand effectively
What You'll Do
Responsibilities:
Stakeholder Cultivation and Management:
- Develop and implement strategies to identify, cultivate, and maintain relationships with key stakeholders
- Engage with donors, corporate partners, government officials, and community leaders to promote the organization's mission and initiatives
- Represent the organization at public functions, community events, and meetings with stakeholders
Fundraising and Development:
- Lead efforts to secure additional funding through grants, donations, sponsorships, and other revenue-generating activities
- Collaborate with the CEO and National VP of Development to identify funding opportunities and develop compelling proposals
- Oversee the planning and execution of fundraising events and campaigns
Regional Expansion and Sustainability:
- Work with the executive team to develop and implement a strategic plan for state expansion
- Secure necessary resources to support the build-out of state operations
- Ensure sustainable funding streams are in place to support ongoing operations and growth
Program Delivery:
- Develop and implement comprehensive strategies to ensure the effective delivery of all programs in alignment with organizational goals and objectives
- Establish and maintain high standards of program quality, monitoring performance metrics, and ensuring continuous improvement
- Oversee the planning, execution, and evaluation of all programs, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget
- Identify potential risks to program delivery and develop mitigation strategies to address them proactively
Leadership and Collaboration:
- Provide leadership and mentorship to the team and other staff involved
- Foster a collaborative working environment that encourages innovation, teamwork, and high performance
- Collaborate with program managers and other departments to align fundraising and development efforts with organizational goals
- Results-driven focus setting clear objectives and measurable goals to guide program success. Utilize data and feedback to continually assess the impact of initiatives, making necessary adjustments to achieve desired outcomes
- Lead, support, and develop a high-performing team by providing clear direction, regular feedback, and opportunities for professional growth. Ensure team members are engaged, motivated, and aligned with the organization's mission and goals
Communication and Advocacy:
- Serve as a primary spokesperson for the organization, effectively communicating its mission, vision, and goals to diverse audiences
- Develop and implement communication strategies to enhance the organization's visibility and reputation
- Advocate for the organization's interests at local, regional, and national levels
Requirements
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in business, Nonprofit Management, Public Relations, Public Health or a related field (master's degree preferred)
- Minimum of 10+ years of experience in nonprofit development, program management, fundraising, stakeholder relations, or a related field
- Proven track record of securing significant funding and building strong relationships with donors and key stakeholders
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
- Strong leadership abilities and experience managing a team
- Strategic thinker with the ability to develop and implement long-term plans
- Passion for the mission and values of HealthCorps
Skillset:
- Passion for addressing health disparities in a community setting, working in education and/or youth development
- Experience working in and with racially,
ethnically, and socioeconomically marginalized communities.
- Commitment to raising one's cultural consciousness and challenging oppressive practices on an interpersonal and institutional level
- Ability to effectively and respectfully communicate, collaborate, and connect with people with various backgrounds, identities, positions, and experiences
- Open and willing to implement new and dynamic programs and help us problem-solve as we strive to improve and expand our impact
- Maintain a growth mindset, striving to improve professionally and personally
- Proven track record of being a self-starter, organized, detail-oriented, and creative in an environment with limited resources
- Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor diverse teams, fostering an environment of collaboration, accountability, and high performance
- Skilled in creating and nurturing a positive company culture that aligns with organizational values and promotes employee engagement and satisfaction
- Strong command of how to pitch and manage programming with external stakeholders and partners
- Adept at cultivating and maintaining strong relationships with donors, corporate partners, government officials, and community leaders
- Proficient in designing and executing successful fundraising campaigns, grant writing, and securing major gifts
- Experiencing overseeing and managing a program budget
- Proficient in identifying issues and implementing effective solutions to enhance operational efficiency and achieve desired outcomes
- Expertise in developing and executing strategic plans that drive organizational success and growth
- Excellent written, verbal, and all-around personable social skills
- Intermediate to expert level proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; proficiency with Canva and social media platforms
- Bilingual a plus
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Ability to travel across the state of Arizona and to other locations outside Arizona on occasion
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times
Benefits
Additional Position Details
This is a full-time, salaried position and you will be offered a comprehensive benefits package. You will be a hybrid employee but must be located within the greater Pheonix, AZ area have a valid driver's license and your own vehicle for frequent travel to area schools and universities. Local travel to sites will
account for 30 - 40% of your time. Position may require some afternoon or evening hours. Anticipate occasional overnight travel throughout the year.
