CONTEXT: Our client is seeking an experienced Director of Security Technology Solutions with a robust background in the healthcare industry. The ideal candidate will possess a blend of technical expertise, particularly in audiovisual (AV) and security systems, along with strong project management skills. This role requires proficiency in managing complex projects, coordinating design teams, and serving as the primary intermediary between the clients and architects on large-scale security technology projects valued at $100M+.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Serve as the primary liaison for clients, architects, and general contractors, ensuring project alignment with client needs, compliance, and security standards.
- Manage and coordinate the activities of designers, engineers, and project teams to ensure successful delivery of project milestones.
- Oversee the design and implementation of security systems, including access control, video surveillance, intrusion detection, and other technology solutions, ensuring adherence to healthcare regulations and standards.
- Identify and mitigate potential risks related to security, technology, and compliance within healthcare environments.
- Effectively manage project budgets and resources to ensure cost control and optimal resource allocation.
- Ensure that all security technology systems comply with healthcare standards and regulations (e.g., HIPAA, HITECH) while enhancing operational efficiency and patient safety.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor of Science (BS) in Electrical, Electronics, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related STEM field required.
- Mastery of principles related to electrical voltage and current, digital and analog signals, and IT networking topologies as they relate to electrical low-voltage systems design for security, audiovisual, and DAS.
- Minimum of 5-7 years in security technology consulting, with significant emphasis on healthcare environments and AV systems.
- Preferred certifications include RCDD (Registered Communications Distribution Designer), PSP (Physical Security Professional), and CTS-D (Certified Technology Specialist – Design).
- Knowledge of security systems integration (access control, surveillance, intrusion detection) and familiarity with healthcare-specific technologies and compliance standards.
- Proven track record managing large-scale projects ($100M+) within the healthcare sector.
- Strong verbal and written communication abilities, capable of presenting complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
- Demonstrated leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and guide project teams to success.
- Experience working in a healthcare environment, understanding healthcare regulations, and familiarity with industry-specific challenges.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and experience in risk assessment and mitigation.
- Proficiency in project management tools and methodologies.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
