About FPPA
The Fire and Police Pension Association was created by legislative mandate in the 1980’s. Our leadership team guides us in fulfilling our mission, vision and values while achieving our strategic objectives. We administer a statewide multiple employer public employee retirement system providing defined benefit plan coverage as well as death and disability coverage for police officers and firefighters throughout the State of Colorado.
We are a small association of only 70 staff located in Denver, CO. We work hard and have a culture that supports staff to establish a well‐balanced relationship between their personal needs and work commitments.
Position Summary
The Network & Security Analyst is responsible for supporting computer network defense, including auditing the network for vulnerabilities, developing solutions for security issues and investigating any security incidents including but not limited to phishing attempts, zero-day vulnerabilities, edge protection, and breaches. You will be assisting with design and implementation of security measures to protect data, networks, and computer systems.
Qualifications Summary
To be successful in this position you will need to have the Bachelor’s Degre in Computer Science or a related field from an accredited institution. Minimum three (3) years of professional experience in network and/or security roles. Hands-on knowledge of routing, switching, firewalls, Anti-Virus, IPS, IDS, SIEM, WAF technology, WAP technology, Azure. Experience with Sentinel One, Fortinet suite. Ability to work independently on project, including making project plans, test plans, implementation plans, etc. Hands-on knowledge of methods and standards for project management. Experience with documentation procedures, technical writing and agreements. Ability to analyze a variety of technical issues and recommend direction and options for solutions. Experience using MS Office applications. Occasional evening, weekend and non-regular work hours required.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with pension processing, membership and tax processing, and accounting principles and various financial systems
Direct knowledge and experience with both traditional Waterfall development and Agile development methodologies.
Experience working with CI/CD
Network and Information security certifications
CompTIA Security+, CISSP, COBIT, etc.
Hands-on knowledge of project management planning tools such as Microsoft Project.
Experience with Team Foundation Server, Git, SQL 2016
Experience with Pension Administration Systems
Experience with Hyland OnBase
Knowledge of both database and application development
Salary and Benefits
The salary range for this position is $70K ‐ $95K depending upon experience. Includes group medical, dental, vision, 401K, 457, defined benefit though Colorado PERA, life insurance and long‐term disability.
