Job Description
Job Title: CPE Network Trouble Shooter
Location: Englewood CO 80112 – 100% on site
Duration: 6+ month contract (contract will continue to extend or convert to FTE)
Other Requirements:
- If not local, must be willing to relocate within 2-3 weeks maximum – relocation assistance will not be provided
- Must be willing and able to work 100% onsite
- Must be very strong in DOCSIS, Customer Premise Equipment (CPE) and troubleshooting / debugging CPE
JOB OVERVIEW
- Troubleshoots and resolves escalated Access and CPE device field issues.
- Performs assessments on existing technologies to determine performance and capacity gaps.
- Establishes security, connectivity and access parameters.
- Provides recommendations to optimize network infrastructure.
- Tests and tunes security devices and systems.
- Programs routers and switches. Implements communications technologies (data or voice).
- Manages network services from planning phase through implementation.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Solid knowledge of routing protocols, network hardware and software, security technologies and network infrastructure is required.
- 10 years of experience.
- Experience working with DOCSIS, ONU, CMTS, DAC, EC, Troubleshooting, Debugging and CPE (Customer Premise Equipment)
Additional Skillsets being sought:
- Advanced knowledge of the DOCSIS and EPON standards
Working knowledge of CMTS platforms including:
- Casa C100G
- Arris E6000
- Cisco cBR8
- RPHY
- Harmonic vCMTS and RPDs
- Vecima RPDs
Working knowledge of EPON platforms including:
- ADTRAN 95XX and SDX-6210
- Vecima (Nokia) 7360 and Distributed Access Architecture SF-4x, SC-2D3
Working knowledge of switch platforms including:
- Cisco NCS/ASR
- Juniper PTX/QFX/ACX
Working knowledge of routing protocols including:
- OSPF
- ISIS
- BGP
- v4/v6 Multicast
- Ability to write technical documentation
- Ability to write and follow detailed technical test plans
- CPE and ONU background in trouble shooting is highly desirable
- Creative Network Trouble Shooting Skills.
