Linux System Engineer
Optomi, in partnership with one of our premiere clients, are seeking an experienced Linux Systems Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will lead the planning, design, development, implementation, and optimization of Linux systems. This is a high-priority position, and we are ready to hire immediately.

Qualifications and Skills of the right candidate:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- 8-10 years of experience in UNIX/Linux engineering and administration.
- Strong proficiency with RPM (Red Hat, CentOS) and Debian (Ubuntu) systems.
- Experience with modern package management tools (ip, dnf, nmcli, apt).
- Proficient in automation and scripting (Perl, Bash, Python).
- Hands-on experience in designing and optimizing Linux file systems.
- Familiarity with vCenter, VMware OVF Tool, HashiCorp Vault, and Packer.
- Experience with GitLab for CI/CD workflows.
- Knowledge of hardening techniques and performance tuning for Linux systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement Linux systems engineering solutions to drive operational efficiency.
- Build, optimize, and harden operating system images.
- Develop and manage CI/CD pipelines and automation frameworks.
- Work with repositories to create and maintain custom images.
- Implement security best practices to ensure system integrity.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive best practices and recommend system improvements.
