Title: Infrastructure as Code (IaC) Application DevOps Specialist
Location: Remote
Type: Contract
Summary
This role focuses on building and deploying cloud-native applications using Terraform Cloud for Azure, with a strong emphasis on containerization, microservices, and serverless functions. The specialist will develop CI/CD pipelines that incorporate DevSecOps practices, including static code scanning and security monitoring. Experience with Terraform Cloud, GitHub, and cloud-native services are essential, and experience with Azure DevOps for application deployments, is nice to have.
Technical Skills
- Extensive experience developing Terraform code for Azure to support cloud-native application development.
- Secondary experience developing Terraform code for AWS.
- Proven experience with Azure cloud-native services such as Azure Functions, App Services, and Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS).
- Strong experience with containerization tools, including Docker, and managing Kubernetes clusters.
- Experience with microservices architecture and using Infrastructure as Code to deploy microservices in cloud environments.
- Experience developing and optimizing CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions and GitHub repositories for managing application code.
- Proven experience with static application code scanning tools (e.g., Snyk, SonarQube, GitHub Advanced Security) to ensure security and compliance in application development.
- Familiarity with deploying and managing serverless functions in Azure and AWS.
- Knowledge of security standards in application development (e.g., OWASP Top 10) and integrating DevSecOps practices into the development lifecycle.
- Experience with tools like Checkov, Terraform Sentinel, Snyk, and Aqua Security for security scanning of IaC.
- Secondary experience with Azure DevOps for managing application deployment pipelines.
- Experience with AWS services like Lambda, ECS, or EKS for deploying cloud-native applications.
- Some experience with ServiceNow to integrate DevOps workflows into broader organizational processes.
Non-Technical Skills
- Experience working as an architect embedded within project teams, providing specialized Infrastructure as Code and DevSecOps expertise while ensuring alignment with overall cloud strategies.
- Strong documentation skills, with a focus on embedding detailed, clear, and structured documentation directly within the codebase to ensure transparency, maintainability, and compliance with internal standards.
- Ability to collaborate effectively across multi-disciplinary teams, communicating complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders while advocating for best practices in cloud infrastructure and security.
