The following position is to join our RTX Corporate, Enterprise Services, Research Center or BBN team:
We are seeking an IT Administrator focused on middleware support to join our Middleware Platform Services team. This is a technical service role implementing, managing and supporting virtualized server infrastructure, network connectivity, and middleware services that are critical to the success and stability of our customers web-based custom developed, and COTS applications. The successful candidate will be engaged in information systems design, platform services, application analysis, systems integration, and related disciplines. This position requires the ability to collaborate with teams and diagnose application/middleware problems and implement solutions that address those issues.
The candidate must be very well informed and technically competent, abreast of current industry trends, be able to think quickly, prioritize tasks, introduce and implement creative solutions, and have a very broad understanding of our entire technology stack: ETL processes, networking, web application deployment, debugging techniques and performance analysis. This individual will also monitor re-occurring deliveries and work closely with business and application engineering teams to execute and deliver on a timely basis. This role is tightly coupled with the Enterprise Architecture, Applications, and Foundational Services organizations. This candidate must possess solid written and oral communication skills to articulate and communicate design decisions to customers, sponsors, and leadership.
What You Will Do:
- Troubleshoot/resolve customer problems of complex nature such as product configurations (files or data), networking, platform, third party communications, hardware configuration or other issues commonly encountered in systems operation in a networked environment
- Troubleshoot software and configuration as necessary including, but not limited to reviewing code and associated scripts, reviewing application logs and updating configurations to resolve the customer’s issues in a production environment
- Construction and scheduling of automated processes and creation of custom processing scripts as needed
- Regularly document and report product/application defects to the Product Management and Application Development teams, and escalate unresolved problems to appropriate resources
- Serve as an escalation point for other Support Teams for escalated issues
- Proactively seek out, research, and recommend improvements to better serve customers
- Ensure that all security, availability, confidentiality and privacy policies and controls are always adhered to
- Work evenings, weekends, and on-call as needed
Qualifications You Must Have:
- B.S. in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics or relevant discipline with 8+ years of experience in IT System Administration, solution design and support
- Ability to analyze technologies, technical processes and/or functions, document findings, identify areas for improvement, prioritize accordingly and create specifications
- Expert knowledge in Windows server design and implementation, SAN, LAN/WAN routing, and cybersecurity and experience with administration of managed service accounts and PKI Certificate implementation, IIS configuration, troubleshooting and best practices
- Hands on experience with designing, implementing and supporting past and current Windows server platforms: Server 2008, 2012, 2016, 2019 and extensive experience working with vendors on problem resolution and solution design
- Current U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract
Qualifications We Prefer:
- Experience with the following: Office/Microsoft 365 and Azure implementation and management experience, source control management systems like TFS, ADO, SVN with continuous integration/deployment, SQL 2012 or higher, T-SQL and SQL Server database technologies, Basic SQL Server admin such as backing up/restoring database instances, scripting with Powershell, Team Founder Server, Simplified sign-on and authentication/authorization techniques
- Knowledge of .Net 4.5 Framework and higher, the latest Web Technologies, VMWare, Cloud Services, Unix/Linux server and platform administration, Scrum Development Methodology
- Experience / understanding of reporting services, ticketing systems such as JIRA and Amazon Web Services implementation and management experience
- Excellent organization skills and project tracking capabilities, experience in a fast-paced, small team work environment

The salary range for this role is 96,000 USD - 200,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
