Job Title: Vice President (VP) of Growth and Development
Reports to: Chief Executive Officer (CEO)
Job Overview:
The Vice President (VP) of Growth and Development will be responsible for driving the strategic growth initiatives of the company focusing on Digital, Advanced TV, and Linear Media clients, as well as working with Data Intelligence teams on development of increasing value in our Data Products strategy. This role involves leading efforts in new business acquisition, product development, and monetization strategies. The VP will work closely with senior leadership to identify opportunities for expansion, optimize current business operations, and develop innovative solutions to enhance the company’s market presence, growth and profitability.
This roll requires strong background with Ad tech relationships and technical knowledge of Advance TV vendor capabilities and partnerships that are relevant to growth strategies for the organization. This candidate will have expert knowledge of programmatic and will utilize that knowledge to enhance product services and development, working collaboratively with the Data Intelligence team to build new proprietary data products that will truly differentiate Icon from the competition. This candidate is a motivated leader and collaborator that can juggle and prioritize many projects in a fast paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Growth
- Develop and Implement Growth Strategies: Formulate and execute strategic plans to achieve the company’s new business growth objectives, including market expansion, product diversification, and new client acquisition.
- Marketing Analysis: Conduct in-depth market research to identify emerging trends, potential partnerships, and new business opportunities with outside events and conferences for new lead development.
- Business Development: Lead efforts to acquire new clients and expand the company’s customer base through targeted outreach, strategic partnerships, and innovative business models (speak on panels at relevant conferences, identify and cultivate new business strategy as well as writing blogs and other materials that help the company’s marketing efforts.
New Business Development
- Identify Opportunities: Identify and evaluate new business opportunities that align with the company’s strategic goals.
- Client Relationships: Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, industry influencers, and strategic partners.
- Pitch and Present: Develop compelling business proposals and presentations to secure new business and investment opportunities.
Product Development and Monetization
- Product Innovation: Oversee the development of new products and services that meet market demands and enhance the company’s competitive edge.
- Monetization Strategies: Develop and implement monetization strategies to maximize revenue from new and existing products.
- Product Lifecycle Management: Manage the entire product lifecycle from concept to launch, ensuring products are delivered on time, within budget, and meet quality standards.
- Lead ideation and development of new proprietary Icon data and analytics products that provide a distinct advantage for Icon, working in close collaboration with the Data Intelligence Team and EVP, Advanced Media and CEO
- Build business cases for each new product with potential revenue projections and rationale for LOE involved in development
- Prioritize new product initiatives based on client need, potential revenue and feasibility
- Develop goals and project plans for completion with oversight to see them through to completion
- Provide thought leadership in collaboration with internal teams as well as external companies on beta projects, proliferation of new products across clients where applicable, and next generation product development
Leadership and Management
- Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of professionals in the growth and development department.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with other departments, including Client service, Data Intelligence, Finance and Business Operations, to ensure alignment and successful execution of growth initiatives.
- Performance Metrics: Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of growth and development efforts.
Programmatic Strategy
- Lead programmatic strategy working with Advanced Media team to create best in class bidding and supply path optimization, and work with team members to enhance current processes for successful implementation
- Identify and execute additive partnerships to enhance performance of programmatic campaigns that create competitive advantages
- Develop best in class processes to scale programmatic campaigns across partners and work with Ad Ops Manager to set up training process to ensure all traders are working at the highest levels
- Manage existing relatioinships and identify new DSP relationships including contract negotiations and overarching strategy for how to best utilize each partner across clients and campaigns
- Collorborate with stakeholders to gain an understanding or onboarding, process development, KPIs, reporting, of new programmatic partners
Additional Job Responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Stay up-to-date with emerging trends and technologies in advanced media and make recommendations on how to incorporate them into the overall media strategy.
- Manage and mentor a team of media professionals, providing guidance and support to help them develop their skills and achieve their career goals.
- Provide forward and innovative thinking to bring new opportunities in Digital media to clients.
- Proactively improve operational efficiencies and help create processes as new media demands dictate.
- Gain a full funnel understanding on convergent TV media landscape and have full scale knowledge of the convergent TV media performance, tactics and measurement.
Author a minimum of 3 articles a year that establishes expertise and industry leadership
- Other responsibilities will be assigned as the business needs arise
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field; MBA or equivalent advanced degree preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in business development, product development, and monetization strategies, preferably within the media buying and analytics industry. 10+ years of experience in Convergent TV (CTV/OTT and Linear media), and Digital Media, with a proven track record of success in developing and executing effective media strategies.Leadership Skills: Proven track record of leadership and team management with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team.Strategic Thinking: Strong strategic thinking and analytical skills with the ability to translate market insights into actionable growth plans.

- Have full understanding of DPA compliance and the ability to work with the internal VP and head of IT as well as legal and third-party compliance teams to ensure compliance and DPA processes are being met.
- Expert knowledge of advanced media channels, including OTT/CTV, programmatic, OLV (including Youtube), Display, Amazon, Streaming Audio and Digital OOH
- Leader in Ad Tech and expert knowledge in technical workings of DSPs, SSPs and RTB systems
- Excellent analytical skills and ability to use data to inform media strategies and make decisions
- Strong project management skills and ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders
- Problem solver and ability to quickly implement solutions with the tenacity to take solutions across the finish line
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to communicate complex ideas in a clear and concise manner

- Experience managing budgets and financial targets
- Microsoft Office proficiency (Work, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) at an advanced level required
- Proven track record of winning new business and onboarding new clients
Work Requirements:
- Travel: Willingness to travel as needed to meet with clients, and partners, and attend industry events.
- Location: Hybrid work position with a combination of remote work out of home and in office a minimum of 1 day per week with additional days as needed.
