Apex Systems is seeking a CyberSecurity Engineer who has experience with PKI infrastructure and automation processes using Powershell scripting for a large financial client. The position can sit in Plano or Addison, TX, Chicago, IL or Charlotte, NC. Candidates must be willing to sit 3x per week onsite. This is a 12-24 mo. contract position.

Job Description:
Teammates in this role deliver moderately complex tools and systems that mitigate the risk of malicious cyber attacks. Individuals in this role contribute to the protection of system boundaries, keeping computer systems and network devices hardened against attacks and secure sensitive data. It is important that those in this role actively create and nurture partnerships with peer teams and identify opportunities for cross-team collaboration. Individuals in this role operate within a structured environment with some oversight but, in absence of clear direction, take initiative and tackle complex problems within one or more security engineering domains. This role may mentor one or more junior team members.
Top Requirements:
- Knowledge and experience of Venafi or similar certificate management tool
- Powershell scripting ability - ability to create scripts from scratch for automation.
- Windows OS proficiency - automation and deployment experience
- Experience working with Public Key Infrastructure (PKI)
- Experience using middleware tools.
Job Responsibilities:
- Acts as a key contributor in a complex and critical environment
- In-depth knowledge of various cryptographic and encryption technologies and standards (Symmetric/Asymmetric cryptography, Public Key cryptography, Digital signing service, Message Digest and Certificate Authority).
- Sound knowledge of Win 2016 and/or RHEL/Unix
- Experience in scripting in at least one language (PowerShell, Python, etc.)
- Detailed understanding of firewalls, intrusion detection systems, authentication mechanisms, and networking protocols including SMTP, HTTP, DNS, TCP/IP, and SNMP as they pertain to security solutions.
- Experience in assessing and selecting security tools and solutions that best meet the stated Security need at the Bank
- Proven track record of successful implementations
- Experience with security regulatory / compliance requirements including PCI and SOX
- Experience in creating high level and technical presentations and communication skills to explain the approach to a varying audience
- Strong analytical, reasoning, and organizational skills are essential.
