Network Engineer Tier II and III
*FOR CANDIDATES LIVING 30-45 MINUTES WITHIN THE ANNAPOLIS, MARYLAND AREA*
Description
Technical staff will need to have the ability and desire for challenging hands-on technical work. Servicing our customer base will take personnel through most of Maryland, DC, and some of Virginia. Candidates will have the drive for continuous learning and well as a high desire for teamwork. The Network Engineer will provide customer facing support, onsite implementation, project plans, and be able to work with hardware and software vendors including Microsoft, Cisco, HP, SonicWALL, and VMWare.
Responsibilities and Operational Management
· Perform onsite implementation, troubleshooting, diagnosis, and resolution of complex computer problems for end users, and recommend and implement corrective solutions, including offsite repair for remote users as needed.
· Receive and respond to new customer projects whether onsite or remotely at RedZone’s office.
· Assist in preparing, maintaining, and upholding procedures for logging and reporting
· Resolving network issues
· Participate in routine reporting on client data and audits
· Demonstrate detailed knowledge of 3-4 IT domains such as Firewalls, Switches and Routers, Microsoft 365/Azure, Windows Active Directory
· Work within a technical team, knowledge sharing with internal staff as well as customers
· Install, configure, maintain switch, router, firewall and server equipment
Position Requirements
Formal Education & Certification
College diploma or university degree in the applicable field and 1+ year equivalent work experience OR 2+ year equivalent work experience
Knowledge & Experience
- Preferred work experience: Managed Service Provider or consulting environment
- Preferred systems experience: Kaseya, SonicWALL, Cisco, VMWare
- Working technical knowledge of Microsoft networking and environments including Active Directory, Group Policy, Exchange/Exchange Online, and Windows Server OS
- Excellent technical knowledge of hardware, including, HPE, Dell, Lenovo, and others as required.
- Excellent technical knowledge of PC internal components.
- Working technical knowledge of current protocols, operating systems, and standards,
- Ability to operate tools, components, and peripheral accessories.
- Able to read and understand technical manuals, procedural documentation, and OEM guides.

- U.S. Citizen and/or permanent resident
Work Conditions
- Availability to participate in afterhours cutovers, and implementations.
- Sitting and standing for extended periods of time.
- Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, hand, and power tools, and to handle other computer components.
- Lifting and transporting of heavy to moderately heavy objects, such as computers, peripherals, and other hardware.
